Makeasavey's record was 11-5-1 last year.

Can you really ask for more from your backup?

- Atomic Wedgie

Honestly, no.. I can't expect more from a backup... With the record and the numbers he put up, you'd think he would get more games in.. Babcock rode Andersen hard, which leads me to believe that there is not much faith in Curtis McElhinney

I used to think that AussiePenguin was a douchebag troll who knew nothing about hockey, but it turns out the guy owns a Penguins hat.

That's some serious hockey cred right there.

Some goalers play better when they play a lot...Andersens slow starts may support that theory. I think he gets in a groove and doesn't like to mess with it.

Did your pup stay at a kennel? If so, did your pup get the Bordetella vaccine prior to?
- Woderwick

Excellent questions!

Puppy stayed at a kennel. 10 days in (last Thursday), I'm sitting at an outdoor cafe in Paris, and the phone rings. Kennel says the doggie has kennel cough, I need to pick her up.

I calmly inform them dog got ALL her shots, gfy, must be something else. They say their vet says no, you gfy.

I call my vet. They say Bordatella no longer a standard shot - not really effective, too many strains, people now worried about over-vaccination of dogs. Oh great, I am franked.

Luckily the vet agreed to board her. And they now thing it is a lung infection - not kennel cough.

I read something really interesting last year. It was an old interview with a goalie (can't remember who) who said he would prefer both games of the back-to-back - would allow him to stay "in the zone." Then give the backup the next game.

I play ball hockey on back to back days every week, and even if I'm a bit more gassed on the second day, I think the game much more clearly.

How many back-to-back games will it take you to realize that you're terrible at ball hockey though?

Egads...we're just looking for kennels for our pup now and the kennels state the shot is mandatory of course, but if it didn't/doesn't work...we may find alternate plans. Our vet tells us the vaccine updates every year, just like our flu shots. Enough stress for your pup dropping them off only to make them sick too...

I tried to resist, but when he said Lehtonen stole the net from Bishop, I was sucked in.

I've been compared to Plekanec many times.

The 35 year old version of course.

Agreed.

It was mostly about me being defensively responsible while bringing very little offense.

Best sv% of all goalies with 10+ games.

2nd best GAA of all goalies with 10+ games.

Best even strength sv% of all goalies with 10+ games.

Apparently if you look at these stats, the logical conclusion is to bring in Steve Mason.

Ok its settled. Our current back up play too well last year. Need a new one.

I'm pretty good at D and I'm good at digging the puck (ball) out of corners, and if you want someone to rip a shot high and wide after taking a tape to tape pass for an open net, I'm your guy.

No no no....that's not it. He simply hasn't played enough games to be good.

Kind of like my dad. When I was in my 20's I was complaining about a sore back.

He said "You're not old enough to have a back".

Makes sense to me, and the AHL schedule is something they all have to deal with in the minors.
