At least 1 person appreciates my jokes because Leaf Nation does not.

Well between their Prime Minister and the Leafs success over the past 50 years, would you expect them to?

Well it's not really about who would be available, the question would be how many of the available would it take?

If I was Ottawa I want more than just 1 of the available, added junk and 2 1st. I want Patrick, Sanheim, a prospect and 2 1st. If I am Hextall I tell Ottawa to go suck a balloon and try to sign him next year.

The way it looks now EK will be enjoying Winterlude 2019.

The way he says "the whites". Low-key my favorite line in the movie.

If EK would come play for the Flyers, the only roster players that would be on my no trade list would be G, Provorov and Ghost. The reason being that losing any of them, creates another hard to fill hole. Yes, I like/love many of the other players and prospects but they aren’t EK. The enormous depth in the forward line up can be compensated for with others. Some of the prospects might be great someday, but EK is a great fit now. With the farm system Hexy has built, I think he could also part with 2 first round picks.

Karlsson for Ghost and any forward except Patrick, preferably someone with a bigger payday. Karlsson is a much better version of Ghost, like trading a DeLorean for a Porsche 911.

I'd pass. I'd rather bank the future on Patrick becoming a #1 center and defense prospects such as Sanheim and Myers becoming top quality defenseman.

Speaking of funny movies with great lines, I just watched the funniest stupid comedy since Step Brothers...

Glak's Monday Movie Recommendation *plays intro song*

Father of the Year (2018)...Netflix original movie starring David Spade. Seriously I watched it to pass time and pretty much soiled my pants from laughing so much. The lines, the accent, the facial expressions...gold. I watched it one time and it might be top 10 for me in the stupid comedies you quote forever list. Obviously Tommy Boy, Step Brothers and Joe Dirt are in the top 5.

Trading Ghost means we are still one defenseman short of a solid top 4. Once again, waiting around for a prospect to get more experienced and improve. They won’t all pan out. Ghost already panned out fine. Remember he was older coming from college. It may take a few more years to see if Sanheim or Myers will pan out.

Also Ghost at 4.5 million > Karlsson at 10 million or so. Moving Ghost and Patrick for Karlsson would be asinine.

You only make that kind of deal if you think it could put you over the top and make you a legit Cup contender. I personally don't think it would. I'd rather stick with the plan and a potentially longer open window.

No Thankyou. That is a step backwards. It is like the Flyers pre Hexy. Big deals for older vets for young talent.

Regarding the discussion on Noah Cates from the other day. I said they had him listed as 6’1” 165 pounds. Mono said he looked thicker then that and used his broad frame to help shield the puck. Saw an article on him.

“The offense has always been a part of Cates' game. Beyond the statistics, what truly stood out from the 2017-18 season was the added strength to his 6-foot-1 frame. Cates weighed 165 pounds at 2017 development camp. He said he started the year with Omaha at 170. Impressively, by season's end, he was a solid 180 to 185.”

Why ever doubt Mono.

Yeah a 911 that scored less points and that will be in the shop all the time. Ill take Ghost producing just as many points for less than half the cap hit any day.

If I was a GM and my closer went in during a non-save situation (getting him work in a blowout doesn't count) I'd walk down from my luxury box and fire my manager right there in the (frank)ing dugout.

Pitching your closer in the top of the 9th in a tie game isn't really unheard of though

I know. And I hate it. I'd love to see the era/whip of closers in that situation. I bet it's terrible.

Well at least Hoskins is on a tear. If they can get Happ and Granderson from the Jays without giving up one of their top 5 prospects it would really help.
