necas was 10th...I think they would've picked a defenseman or traded back, but I have never seen what their board looked like
- YuenglingJagr

12th...

Where would of the Flyers drafted, I thought around 14th?

Yes, but that's only because it's always been his dream to play for them.

Honestly, if Winnipeg was offered either of Nylander or Marner straight up for him, they'd have to do it. Marner would be a win for Winnipeg, but Trouba would immensely help TML's D.

I think they could sell low on some their other contracts and afford all the above and round out the roster with mediocre role players carried by their star power. I as Toronto wouldn't give up such a big piece for trouba knowing he's headed to be an ufa.

So any thoughts on stadium series and trouba ?
- Tfaehner

I think the Stadium Series is fine. I went in 2012 and I'll go to this one, if only, in order take my son, who was too young to take in 2012.

After this one, though, I'm probably done with it.

Could happen, hard to guess at this point in time. Hextall isn't known for giving out NMC/NTC protection so if he is signed to an extension there is no guarantee that he's not traded in a couple of years or perhaps even lost in the 2020 expansion draft.

Agreed, one of Simmer/JvR could be expansion casualties.

I dont see young guys being blocked if they earn a spot. Allison if he's good enough will not be blocked by simmer or anyone else. He will have to earn it at the NHL level and likely start bottom 6 no pp time. And that's completely okay

Well, as long as Winnipeg signs him, he's an RFA next offseason as well. if Toronto wants to contend now, his addition gives their D some credibility.

I've been to the stadium series and classic. Favorite game to this day was the alumni game though. Lindros getting the standing O. Bernie being gifted a save for the crowd to go wild. Tons of fun. Good weather too vs the classic the next day.

I am only annoyed about the outdoor games because the Flyers don’t win them!

I agree, if it were up to me, Simmonds would have probably been dealt at the 2018 draft.
- BiggE

I don't think Hexy got the right offer. Pretty sure he had JVR in his sights then. Now he either signs Simmer with good term, trades him and that will be sooner rather then at the dead line. Could ride him out as our rental for the playoff push. Instead of giving assets up that we have for someone else, we use Simmer and don't get assets back.
But if he goes I think it's early.

The Alumni game was a bigger highlight than the actual game, agreed.

Brayden Schenn scoring his first NHL goal in the real game was fun. If Briere had connected on that penalty shot, that would have been better.

Hextall does a good job of doing his due dilligance, so if Panarin is indeed available what is the Columbus ask from the Flyers when Hextall calls?

Probably Patrick, plus...which wouldn’t make sense for the Flyers.

Thats fine. As BiggE said as well, Simmer or JVR could either be the expansion draft pick. Allison is a Jr this year, I believe. He comes back from injury, has a strong finish and says screw it. I can do one more year and pick any team. Have to try to sign these guys well before then.
Have the Flyers ever lost a guy this way before?

No, college players cant sign pro contracts

Edit:also no slide rule provision. If they had signed ELC, they wouldn't be UFAs .

E. Stolarz

I don't want us to sleep on Stolie. If he regains form prior to injury, he will see the net. Nuevy will be hurt or traded by Feb.
