Some Examples of guys Hawks brought in the NHL to varying degrees of success, but they played NHL minutes.
Keith - 2nd Round - Age 22
Seabrook - 1st Round - Age 20
Leddy - 1st Round - Age 19
Wisniewski - 5th Round - Age 21/22
Burish - 9th Round - Age 24
Kane - 1st Round - Age 19
Toews - 1st Round - Age 19
Byfluglien - 8th Round - Age 20-22 (He was up and down)
Brouwer - 7th Round - Age 23
Barker - 1st Round - Age 20
Bickell - 2nd Round - Age 24
Bolland - 2nd Round - Age 21
Hjalmarsson - 4th Round - Age 20-22
Kruger - 5th Round - Age 20-21
Shaw - 5th Round - Age 20
Saad - 2nd Round - Age 20
Teravinen - 1st Round - Age 20
Hartman - 1st Round - Age 22
The current prospect pool might not be as talented, but I think there could be some NHL players in the system who are in similar situations sitting around age 19-23 and could play minutes soon. The Hawks don't need to add a ton of superstar players, but if they could fill a couple more holes it will help. - breadbag
yeah two games I vividly remember watching where I thought "this team could be very good.."
--ST Louis when the hawks had Peter Bondra but Buff stood out. Was amazed at his size and told all my Hawks friends (small group back then) that he could be a legit power forward in the NHL
--Arizona....year when Versteeg, Bolland made appearances and you could see the skill from the depth guys that stood out.
I'm sure I'll have those moments again, hopefully, with the new wave of players at some point......

$95 for a 3 day pass.
Very curious to see the turnout. I also googled season ticket renewal rate and was unable to find any data. I know for certain it wasn't 100%......
Will be very curious to see how individual game tickets go, once they are on sale.
These are real tells for the organization....things that will hurt them financially and could lead to some changes. - SteveRain
I think the more telling tell would be to tell what kind of resale market there will be.
That tell would tell us what we might expect about season ticket sales in the future. |

JL - It would be interesting to see a breakdown in the Blackhawks revenue stream. What % of revenue comes from ticket sales, tv rights, radio rights, advertising, merchandise, convention revenue etc... . My guess is that most people greatly over estimate the % of revenue from ticket sales. |

Vinny became the new odd man out because Q did not trust him ,and used him incorrectly . As long as Q is making up line ups Stan has to work around him .This situations has to end soon and will I believe . - oldduffman
Why is it when a fringe 4th liner gets traded out, its Q that used him incorrectly. Watching Hino, he played in the middle of the ice, is contact adverse, and has no D. A average 4th liner at best. |

Resale market was extremely soft the last part of last season, so outside of marque games (Pitts, Tor, Wash, Det, etc) I bet you will see the same.

I remember reading somewhere that season ticket renewal rate was around 84%.
I have noticed that they are pushing to sell some "partial" season ticket plans of 9 and 21 games.
They are walking a fine line. The ticket price increase this season after an abysmal season really made a whole lot of people think about renewals. |

Well I heard advertisers weren't willing to pay top dollar last year, as the Tv ratings were down.
Ticket sales make up a significant portion and Forbes does their yearly analysis but I don't think they drill down that far.
Fact is season ticket prices are a % less then what you see tickets listed for on the Hawks site. Also remember, with the new tax code the luxury box revenue will be down as well as businesses can't write all that $$$ off any longer.

Agreed but I'm guessing, IMO, they watch that secondary market closely and realize what they can and can't get away with in relation to increases. You are correct though....I know a few people who didn't renew. As a season ticket holder, if you can't make all 41 games, and not many can, you at least want to break even and without playoff revenue that becomes VERY tough. |

SAAD just got married, and Seabrook? On the couch eating five guys cheeseburger’s !
I am curious to find out exactly how many passes they sold ,That would be something if only 200 people were there for the opening ceremonies. They probably will be giving away some freebies to season-ticket holder’s just to get bodies To fill the room - wonthecup10
Seabs and Keith seem to be trading off years for attendance.
Seabs has actually looked to be in pretty good shape in some pics that have surfaced this summer. |

Vinnie was a nice story. A local kid who has worked his butt off to make it to the NHL on his hometown team. When playing at his absolute best, he is a fringe player on any team with Cup aspirations. Lets not fool ourselves, whether this Hawks team makes the playoffs is NOT hinging on Hinostroza or his absence. His 14 minutes a game is much better served on guys like Edjsell, Sikura, Hayden or any other number of guys with much higher ceilings, better size, better skill, etc. |

What if Stan is secretly a genius and is playing 4D chess with Columbus?
2017: Stan meets with Artemi, tells him 'look we're going to trade you to get Saad back, but we want you to come back as UFA in two years.' Artemi reluctantly agrees.
2018: Jarmo says 'hey Artemi, how about an extension, we love you?
Artemi says 'my heart is taken, by a one true 5-star man'
Rumors fly
2019: Artemi is still on Columbus, gets traded at the deadline to a contender. New team has a decent playoff run, says 'hey Artemi, we loved your play. How about a big fat extension?'
Artemi says 'I have 88 reasons why you are not adequate'
2019: Artemi signs with the Blackhawks at $7x5 years. Panarin-Toews-Kane form the best line in hockey.
[wraps tinfoil on head harder]
2019: Arizona decides that they're done paying people to not play for them. They buy out Hossa's remaining contract for the last two years. Hossa had been receiving stem cell treatment in Slovakia, the same doctor who cured Chara's aging last year. Hossa signs a 1-year league minimum deal with the Hawks.
Cup win. |

I just pulled the trigger on a 9-game plan. Pretty bad seats but I'm just excited to have some tickets of my own for once. The amount of times I've overpaid is sad, although the end of last year was a feast for me. |

Correction on Seabrook .... I read in a different Hawk blog last year that he has a thing for nachos although I could see cheeseburger from five guys too
Saad's wife won't let him go to the convention. That's how it is when you get married just kidding |

HA.....one could only hope......I will be pleasantly surprised if these core guys who were off last year (2/7/19/20) all report in "best shape of their careers, etc". that would be a refreshing start and hopefully transforms to a quick start to the season.
That's my one goal hope...…. - SteveRain
Well gentlemen, a while back I posted that I was not buying the fact that Seabrook was through, what is he?34 years old ? Then I remember stating, Look at the last guy to wear that jersey number, he had at least seven or eight more good seasons ahead of him, with the commitment in training. Low and behold , look who’s back in the organization,That should be Chris Chelios first mission,Get Seabrooks fat ass on a rigorous training program. |

Not $95 anymore. I just got an offer from the Hawks emailed to me last week of $25 3-day passes, just for buying some $5 tickets to a Chicago Pro Hockey League Game! That is definitely telling. And no, we’re not going. Good deal, but it just looks like too many crowds for my taste. |

I would expect a decent exodus of season ticket holders who may have barely came back this year and will bail after this year.
You will see a lot of empty seats IF, and that's a big IF, they do have a similar season to last year. that will send a message to the upper management. May get the ticket sales, but lose out on concession, parking, etc. |
