What about the glory days of Andrew Raycroft, or the wonderful time we all had watching the Jonas Gustavsson experiment?

Am I calling him one of the best ever....no not even close, but to call him trash is unbelievable. Do you realize he won the Conn Smythe in the STANLEY CUP finals against one of the greatest teams in the history of the NHL...and was on the losing side? Also was in net for another Stanley Cup finals in 97...getting beat by another all-time great assembled teams in the history of the NHL.

Pelle...ok I get it that it's tough to say what "would of" happened, but he was considered one of the best when he played.

Some weird ones for sure. I was looking at the Devils on capfriendly...Marcus Johansson is 27? WTF? Seems like a year ago he was a "promising young player."
- AdamFrench

He was a promising young player until Marchand mushed his brain.

So Pelle and Hextall were trash?
- Glak18

Agreed with you on this. Not sure why he's discounting both of them.

total failure.. We missed out on a goalie that could drop lyrics while getting scored on. Was a great Marlie though albeit, for one season.. The next season, he was kinda crappy.

Well I agree to AGREE with you...he was a goon and had a temper, but his early goaltending years spoke for themselves.

he was pretty bad defensively last year to be honest. he was getting ice time based on reputation alone it felt it.
- daeth

He's gone now, but he was always 1st guy back and used against the top lines in the NHL...he's not looking to score ( unfortunately for him )...even when he was open he was looking to dish the puck. I miss Uncle Leo already....I know we'll be better...but IMO he was a real good defensive forward who wouldn't leave you hanging at the other teams blue line, get it deep and go get it.

I'll probably forget him by Nov 1 when we hoist the Octocup.

definitely feels like his time in the 80s carried him the rest of his career. he was average pretty much for the entire 90s. i do specifically remember a couple good games vs NJ in the playoffs the lockout shortened season though.

Yeah the 90's were lackluster for him, but early 90's Flyer teams were terrible, I remember I had to root for Norm Freakin' Lacombe then. Of course he was traded to Quebec then went on to the Islanders I believe and had some redemption on his return to the Flyers in the end of the 90's.

I was just curious, was not trying to get to the whole "America Vs Canada" debate to be clear.

Reason why I ask is because I am familiar with school shootings in the US through studies, which the amount has increased to about a shooting every 2-3 weeks. School shootings are normally classified as any shooting on school grounds, even gang spill over or adults arguing in a parking lot.

As for Canada school shootings I have very limited knowledge of the cases. I did do a quick search and found a decent size list, biggest thing that jumped out from the list was the death toll, which was very low on each incident compared to American school shootings. Which leads me to believe that the shootings in American schools are more planned, where in Canada they may just be heat of the moment.

I tried to name players who had decent careers before arriving in Toronto, Didn't Clemmy have 1 good year when Brodeur got injured?

EDIT: Nevermind he had no career before Toronto.
