I agree it's a non story. Winnipeg is a contender that wants a cup now. Trouba is a good player and makes their team better. If they traded him, it would likely be a downgrade in talent, at least for the short term.

So at this point, it's better for them to hold onto him until he hits UFA status. If they think they don't have a chance at the cup, maybe they trade him at the TDL the last year he's under control.

We're shuffling some trucks around because of this. Two of my crew are on our peer support team and are going to have a debrief with the first arriving crew at that scene. I got posted to another hall for the remainder of shift.

I've attended 2 fatal shootings in that area over the past couple years while working at the hall on Chatham (they would have been first in at tonight's shooting) and the hall on Gerrard. One guy was targeted in front of the hooka bar and the other was a grandmother caught in the crossfire in the laneway behind her house.

It's generally a well to do neighbourhood going on house prices alone but there are some problems with rival Somali and Eritrean groups a little east of where the actual incident occurred.
