Yea that's true, at least we got Dumo out if it because it could have been nothing. So what it sort of comes down to is would you rather have had Staal or Dumo/Phil. It would have been so much better had we just drafted Forsberg but that water is way over the dam haha - 668710
I sorta look at it as
Staal -------> Dumo
Kapanen ------> Kessel
2016 1st
You can have the left side, or the right side, All the other pieces, Sutter, Pouliot, Bonino are gone and the others Harrington, etc aren't relevant
I still go with the 2 Cups and Dumo/Kessel today - But there was a void there for a few years when all we had to show for Staal was Sutter. Meat was left on the bone in those years

The lines get juggled so much. From game to game and within a game. If it works really well at wing he'll probably stick at wing... If it doesn't he won't haha. - MattStrat
I really want Brass to get comfortable at wing so we can load up when we need to. Come playoff time I'd like him at center but slot up if needed
That's what really killed us against Washington. They were so depleted at Center they were almost just a 1 line team. we should have loaded up 2 lines and tried to overwhelm them
The way we did it, spreading everyone around just watered down our lineup and helped the Caps make up for their injuries. |

I haven't played hockey so I can't say, but I would think chemistry & working together on a line required time - lots of time. So it would be great to think you could just play anyone anywhere at any time, but I think that would be counter productive & need a lot of 'luck' to succeed. I don't know, but isn't centre a position that dictates play & the wingers & D follow the structure of the C? If that C is constantly changing it would be difficult for the other players to play their best as they just can't get into a tempo that's constant? |

Oh for sure but with Bylsma at the helm I'm not so sure we would have even won with Staal. But I agree with you on the right side. |

We were a 1 line team and horny should have never left the first line. He did try to spread it out and we just were not fit for that at all with the injuries. Should've just let the first line go. |

I wish we could have gone with
Guentzel Sid Horn
Brass Geno Phil
Sheary(or Hags) Sheahan Rust <---- All this line would have had to do is tread water and don't get scored on
Don't even play the 4th line, Hags and Kuhn could have PK'd, Simon could had rode the pine |

Apparently that second line though was all injured. We know Geno hurt his knee against Philly and Brass apparently had a groin injury, and not sure what was wrong with Phil so that line could have been a disaster. Sucks Geno got hurt because then I would agree and say let Geno kinda prop those two up haha |

No way, and how would we afford the 10-12 mil cap for next year if he's signed? We would have to move Kessel or Letang (which I would) along with letting hags go(very ok with)but teams would know we would have to move out a big contract and it would suck. And we haven't even gotten to the pieces that Ottawa wants(stuff we don't have) Everyone would love to have him here but it's not realistic. |

I mean Schultz + Brassard would amount to $8.5M. Letting Hagelin go would give us another $4M. Just trhrowing around something that would make it work financially.
You know what? F it. Let's roll with what we already have which is pretty good. |

C-Bus: Jones/Werenski tied (future of Team USA blue line when Betman stops being dumb)
Carolina: Jordy Staal
NYI: Anders Lee
NJ: Palmieri (crazy how many ND guys are in this division)
NYR: Kreider (sue me)
Philly: Ghost
Pittsburgh: Bryan MF Rust |

If he was on Genos wing, how many penalties due to rough play or picking fights would they get playing together? Love to have Kreider on the Pens. |
