“I’ve chain plays like a bull and still happens to be one of the most durable players.........”. WTF are you talking about? Way to go out on a limb and pick the statistical best player from each team. |

I think Isles might surprise. As long as Barzal is ready to step up, they look to be a decent team.
Lee - Barzal - Eberle
Beauvillier - Komorov - Bailey
Ladd - Fillpula - Clutterbuck
Nelson - Cizikas- Kuhnhackl
Leddy - Boychuck
Hickey - Pulock
Pelech - Mayfield
Griess
Lehner
Lehner is an upgrade over Halak. Defence is questionable but forward wise I think they are fine. I think Barzal will outshine Tavares. He already kept pace with him in his rookie season. Beauvillier will need to step up and produce like a 2nd liner and it will be interesting to see how Komorov does in a much more substantial role than he played in Toronto and more ice time. - xShoot4WarAmpsx

We recouped value on an asset we had no shot of keeping, but let’s not pretend Dumoulin and Bonino is anywhere close to as valuable as Staal. I think the traded ended up being fine for us but “really good” is a stretch. - Victoro311
There was a transition period between trading Staal for basically a lesser player (Sutter) and futures (Poiliot not panning out, Dumo not being ready) which brought down the competitiveness for a few seasons
Who knows, we might have won a cup or 2 earlier had Staal stayed
I’ll take the Bird that’s in the hand now and wouldn’t change a thing, but that trade was a huge loss at the wrong time for us.
It took the Kessel Trade, where we basically did to Toronto, what Carolina did to us and we acquired the elite player to reverse it |

At this stage a player like Brassard would be perfect, take some pressure off Barzal. I'm not sure what Komorov is capable of & if he goes the Trotz way of hockey he might be in the box more than on the ice.
The D isn't good. The team will struggle big time especially early. - Aussiepenguin
Why would the Penguins weaken their roster to help out a divisional roster? There is no current organizational need and trading Brassard creates a hole. Sheahan has absolutely salvaged his career but he’s still an average 3C to very good 4C. When Brassard is on a line with Kessel and Aston Rease he will be plenty happy. It could be a career year for him preying on third pairings all season. |

Your’s are ok except queen Henry and Barzal really is all the Islanders have to be excited about. Too bad they busted on guys like DalColle or they might be better by now. |

Yea that's true, at least we got Dumo out if it because it could have been nothing. So what it sort of comes down to is would you rather have had Staal or Dumo/Phil. It would have been so much better had we just drafted Forsberg but that water is way over the dam haha |

I have a slight crush on Pulock, have ever since the 2013 draft.
Also, I hate every Ranger player solely because they play for the Rangers. So I picked the best looking one.
This post sounds way, way more homosexual that it was intended to be. |

You feel positive about that lineup?? My god, man....
Watch Lee fall off a cliff, now that JT isn't feeding him the puck. And Komarov on the second line??? For the sake of Isles fans everywhere, I hope not. His play declined significantly last year....still can't believe Lou signed him for FOUR more - AxlRose91
So Lee is going to fall off production wise by playing with a player that matched Tavares in his rookie Season? |

That rookie was also seeing easier matchups because of Tavares. |

There were a few mistakes/missing players in your line up though it doesn’t make the team anymore wonderful. Kovar will most likely get a shot as the 2nd line center if not either Nelson or Bailey will probably get time there. First line will probably be Beau Barzal Eberle and Lee and Bailey will be in some combination on the 2nd line I’m sure in an attempt to spread out the scoring. Lee has proven he’s able to score without Tavares numerous times Bailey not so much. |

The first half of the season for the most part when in all honesty Barzal wasn’t as effective to a degree. Barzal was seeing tougher match ups the second half when Tavares did his usual disappearing act save for pumping points in lost games. We’ve only seen one season of Barzal I know but the kid is about as dynamic a player as I’ve seen in my life time. Whether he can handle the pressure is the big question. I believe he can he’s a cocky sob and it seems he is able to back it up. Doesn’t shy away from the spotlight to much. |

Although the rivalries are not quite what they used to be since teams only play each team in the division 4 times now instead of 6, it is still tough to pick favorite players from other divisional teams. Oh yeah, and we can thank Edmonton for making our division as a whole tougher thanks to Chiarelli's stupid trades. |

It's already been confirmed they are going to play Brassard top 6 wing. Now I have no idea if that will work or not, but this is his final year before he signs another contract. So if he's not successful playing wing, then goes back to centre it may be a yuuge mistake. Meanwhile if he's playing wing & Sheahan plays 3C well, would you move Sheahan from that position?
It's great to have depth, but sometimes it creates problems. Stability & chemistry are huge things in good teams. If players can move around without creating issues then great. If they can't then decisions will be critical moving forward.
I personally would play Brassard 3C & suck it & see. See how the young guys play on the wings, give the 3rd line more ice time which will also lighten Sid & Genos load, & hope Sheahan can get the 4th line going.
If Sheahan does play predominantly 4th line, I don't imagine him signing with the Pens next season. Same applies to Brass, unless he gets lots of ice time I think he goes elsewhere. So do you play Sheahan more if he plays well in the hope of extending him? |

The lines get juggled so much. From game to game and within a game. If it works really well at wing he'll probably stick at wing... If it doesn't he won't haha. |

Yes I understand that.
What my original comment was that while Brass is playing wing Sheahan will play 3C. What will happen if Sheahan is killing it at 3C & Brass isn't too good at wing? |
