I used to argue it, but this city just isn’t a pure sports city unless the team is good/exciting. Not just talking about hockey either, look at the Lions.

So I am wrong about the Leafs for the first year and right the rest of the decade. Who would have guessed Sens going from the semis to the bsmt. Montreal Fla and Det also decided to tank to get Dahlin. I think most of them were in the playoffs the year before.

Most people are normal out enjoying beaches and camping but don't kid yourself the phone boards at both radio stations are full for hours and hours. Whitecap games are sold out and so are the Vancouver Canadians are very very hard to get a ticket to.

News flash: This is any sports city where there are other options for entertainment. You're not going to get passion like Edmonton because Vancouver isn't in the middle of the tundra with 5 months of summer.

And there is nothing wrong with fairweather/bandwagon fans. You want those people because it means your team is actually (frank)ing good.
