I want a top 3 pick, I hope Ottawa has a Colorado-like resurgence and Price carries Montreal enough so they don't finish bottom 3

We have a good chance of finishing ahead of Ottawa, Montreal and the Islanders.

Agreed. Possibly the Wings as well. Hopefully Buffalo finally starts getting their poop together, another tank job and they're the new Oilers.

Buffalo figured the tank out real quick. Stopping the tank though...

Send Dahlin, EP, Quinn to the AHL and dominate (get first overall)

Next year line up:

Dahlin EP Boeser
Horvat Hughes Goldy
Roussel Gaudette Lind
gadjovich Beagle Palmu

Quinn Tramkin
Olli Tanev
Woo Stecher

Canucks become cup champs for 5 straight years.

Actually that might be bang on.

I posted in another thread recently that the Canucks would be better than people expect. Reminds me a lot of the 2-years ago Leafs. If they big performances from some good young players + moving on from some vets and manage to stay healthy... I think they could be a wildcard contender.

Contender? I really doubt it. When our goaltending is playing at its best it’s still below league average and it’s not often at its best. Our defence is not deep and if Tanev and/or Edler gets moved then it will be a race to the bottom.

ya lol the WC spot is a bit of a stretch but I do think we will move up a few spots. Optimistic I know but we did get better 5/5 with the Sedins/Vanek gone just need EP and BB to replace some of the missing points. But I agree (if healthy) this team could grind out wins especially with Beagle/Roussel/Schaller. Goaltending is still a problem though as Marky will clearly never be a true #1...but with some intangibles we could move up a bit. But nothing huge.

Probably, teams always disappoint or exceed expectations, but I can’t say definitively on paper that we are better than any other team.

Come on you guys

Honestly, Vancouver has some real good young talent... and I don't like the Leafs goaltending much either.

Maybe I got a little carried away with the WC thing, but I don't see the Canucks in nearly the same boat as Montreal and Ottawa. Buffalo has some good young talent, so maybe that is a good comparison going forward?

This is a similar comparable and really all my point is....Beagle, Rousell and Shaller is an improvement on Dowd, Gaunce, Archibald the same way Neal, Ryan, Lindholm is an improvement on Ferland, Stajan, Versteeg

Okay but both teams will be near the bottom

I think he is the biggest tool that reports on the team.

Somebody asked him this....
Veronica Xia
@VhockeySugar
Do you think the media affects and/or contributes to sports teams it covers? If so, in what ways?

His answer
I doubt that the media has any real impact on the way the team performs on a night-to-night, game-to-game basis. That said, they play a significant role, good and bad, in dictating the tone around the team, I would like to think.

We at CanucksArmy can get a bad rep, perhaps deservedly at times, for pushing negative narratives. I’ll often find people in the Canucks’ fan base repeating points we make about certain players or decisions, which sometimes aren’t terribly flattering. That said, we do a lot of work to dispel ugly myths, too. Think about the Mason Raymond-thing from way back, or the way we pushed back against all the negativity about Hutton last season.

Generally, a lot in the media, and certainly us at CanucksArmy, will report or provide analysis based on what we believe to be true, and provide evidence for those opinions. Sometimes, those opinions catch on in public. In that way, we have an impact on the discourse; I tend to think.

Too busy trying to make the bad guys look good and make the good guys look bad. Seems like he has it backwards.

Recouped two younger 1st round picks in Hanifin and Lindholm. Both 5oa picks too but then cost them a 5th and 3rd.

We got Gudbrandson and Pouliot too and they were first round picks also

Just reading about how much of an absolute steal Trouba is for the Jets according to Burke.

A lot of jets fans I know, freaking out his play in the regular season and playoffs.
