Well, the criticism of Botts for Kane was that he sat on his hands all year and ended up with less at the deadline. That sounds like Darcy.

I think the return for O’Reilly is as good as anyone should have expected with his contract

He’s getting a bad rap for the ROR trade because of the Kane trade IMO.

The Kane trade was a Darcy type move as you’ve stated. I chalk it up to a rookie move.

Let’s see how both trades work out over the next 3ish years. Those two 1st could wind up being the best two assets of both trades.

Sabres didn't want to include Marcus foligno
- gerbe75pts

Well, who could blame them. We’re talking about THE Marcus Foligno here.

I’m not sure what exactly teams were offering for Kane during the early part of the season.

I can’t imagine it was too much more. I think he had a good idea that SJ wanted to resign him before the trade

I’d like the Sabres to hold on to those picks and use them. Unless it’s for a young cost controlled scoring winger, which, why would anyone give up?

If it really was two 1sts for Evander earlier in the season, that’s a big screwup.

The team was also well out of the race at that point. When Pegula took over, the team went on an amazing run.

Wasn’t that the year Enroth came up late in the year and went 9-2 or something like that to essentially get them in?

Wasn’t Lalemon like 0-5 and was letting 3 or more a game?

Lalime was so bad. I wasn’t afraid of him when he was in Ottawa and I was kinda bummer when we signed him, even for a backup. Pure trash.

As stated they could wind up being the best assets. Just a matter of how they’re used and if they’re 2019 or 2020 picks.

Kind of like how Gilbert Brûlé is the last asset the Oilers had from the Wayne Gretzky trade in 1988. It’ll be interesting to see the eventual flow chart.

Feb 18th 2011 Peggy took over.

I count the 10/11 season as a Tommy playoff team.

What do you expect? We have a GM who refuses to drive more than 5 mph over the speed limit.

Or they could end up being very Armia-like
Hopefully we get lucky

What’s wrong with that? Armia was the best chip in the Kane trade. The archive doesn’t lie.

Yeah, Botts should just trade for Fasching

Serious question...
besides Jack & Sam, which were pretty much obvious choices...

Who that GMTM brought in/drafted will still be here in 3 years?

Trading high end 2nd liners for 4th liners (maybe 3rd?) isn’t very good asset management

Doesn’t matter how many pieces u get if they’re all just “parts”
