My guess is Gardiner and Rielly see some time together; Hainsey slowed down big time as the season went on and I don't see him getting ~21 minutes again this year.

Gards is certainly not one of my favs, but the way this forward group is shaping up it's nothing but possession that will direct the Leafs. Gards has some issues with bad giveaways, but you have to think the job for the Leafs D just got a whole lot easier, and simpler (whew for Gards). Leafs could easily have 2 defensemen in the 60 point range...yeah, that's going to suck. No team has that right now do they?

Not sure. I think they were something like 14th in team D scoring...top 10 certainly in their sights and I can't see them slipping from top 5 in forward scoring. Honestly, with maturity and Babs driving his style home for another year, the Leafs really aren't forced to do anything...they will have the luxury of patience when it comes to seeing what they have on the Marlies this year..and next. Right now, the Leafs are going to be a female dog to play against with this relentless offence.

When gardiner is on his game he is one of the best in the league and that’s when I see the merit of keeping him. He has mental lapses but to be honest with you I’ve seen Erik Karlsson make bone head moves as well yet he might command $10.5-$11.5 mil

Friedman is the best in the business.

There is that , but my opinion is more about how does Buston or JT react after finding out they are not top banana.

When Leafs try and low ball Wilma and her new contract and Mitch next year who might be their real best player.

They got rid of a lot of toughness , agitation and goals last year. They brought in one big name to replace everything.

Flames are in bad shape . They keep throwing things at the wall and nothing sticks so they start over again. I expect the Flames to be bottom three or four of the division again. I don't think they had a good summer at all.

I honestly believe the Leafs lost a big part of their positive identity this year. Of course they will find an answer to the cap but they will give up things to reach it.
