I rag on JG a lot.. Because he has these colossal meltdowns. If it weren't for those i would consider him a top pairing Dman in the NHL. So i guess he is.

If he cost us less than 5 games a year due to these (frank)-ups id be fine with him.. But not game 7 up a goal in the third. That's a sign of not being very strong mentally, and some people are more prone to that.

To me, he's a conundrum.

I get what some are saying... I don't want to replace Gardiner with Luke Richardson... but replacing him (because he's an upcoming FA may make some sense if he can't be signed reasonably)... and if you were (hypothetically) to replace him with Dermott, and Dermott gets 30-35 pts (which I think is reasonable to assume) would it be that huge a loss?

the question really is what do you / can you get in return for Gardiner... the idea of throwing him away for nothing is absurd (completely agree on that).

Sure, if you can't sign him and you cantrade him and get something you need back then yeah.....

But only if it's for a 7th rounder and just by removing him the team is better.

I barely use it

Just a lot of nonsense. It is cool that everyone can have an opinion and all...but everyone is a professional on twitter apperently.

Players are people too, and sometimes players are very sick or injured and the fans don't know about it..they will have a bad game but will get ripped to shreds on Twitter afterwords. They are allowed to have off nights, as do we with our own jobs. Some people just need to shut the (frank) up sometimes

I don't know if anyone listens to "spitting chicklets" with Ray Whitney and Paul Bissonette...but it's pretty cool and funny. The actual hockey analysis is below average. But they talk a lot about the hockey we don't see...like players personalities, partying, etc.
