Not sure how we can fit all of Karlsson, Panarin, and Trouba under the cap..

Feels like you guys are about to jinx it all...
A broken leg or 2 in a summer accident coming up?

Leafs are under house arrest during the summer.. It's in their contract.

They're only allowed to play NHL 18 and Fortnite...

If Trouba is possible that would be awesome.

Still think the Leafs just end up signing Hamuis...see what you have on D and re evaluate at the TDL if they need an upgrade there.

We know the forward and goalie tandems do not need to be touched

Who is really available on defense? Karlsson would only be a rental nor is he good at defending.

So trouba, faulk, spurgeon, myers for rhds? for trade?

or still enstrom and hamhuis as FA LHDs

no the Leafs can't ... but Tampa can...

they'll probably acquire all of them, for basically nothing - and all of them will sign team friendly deals around 3M a year.

Probably only Faulk as D who teams are actively trying to trade.

The rest that you mentioned are in the same position as Gardiner. Teams will listen but will ultimately probably keep them

tbh im not sure any of these guys are any better defensively..

But hard no to acquiring any more Dmen... Our group, although not the teams strongest link, isn't that bad and is getting better.

Yes Leaf fans. The Tavares signing does have a price. Never mind paying an over the hill Tavares 11 mil for the last three years of his deal, players like Nylander and Gardiner will be saying they want to get paid. Do you blame them? FA signings suck. Always. Hometown discount? Are you serious? The Plan was on the rails and motoring along. I may be the only one but signing Tavares might have screwed the Leafs. July 1st you keep your GM holed up in a room somewhere under lock and key
- Hardbalz

Lets be clear. The leafs can have 50 million in free cap space and Gardiner would still not get paid anything close to or over 6 mil per year. He’s a second line forward pretending to be a defenseman. If the Leafs can get a nice package for him in a trade, by all means, pull the trigger.

Ill “suffer” a young kid making mistakes, learning and making 900k a year instead of a 30 year old making 7 million and comitting the same mistakes, except he gets 20-30 more points than a kid putting up 10-20.

So you're saying The leafs wouldn't be as successful with a different player making the same mistakes but scoring 30 less pts?

It's ridiculous.

its 2018 and people still don't understand how important it is for a dman to be able to make breakout passes. pretty much every GM in the league sees extra value in guys that can move the puck but we know better than them.

Its the same with Karlsonn...people say he sucks because he makes the odd mistake but its just the style of play. In todays NHL they do much more good than harm.

If Gards wanted to sign an extension today I would do it in a heart beat. He may be willing to take a bit less, i mean hes endured all this crap from Leafs fans his whole career and still is here so that says something.

6x5.5

I think that is fair for both sides.

I want to see a Gards/Rielly pairing this year

just smash the puck off the glass boys, giving up possession never results in a goal against unless it's a tape to tape turnover.

The stats prove it too.

Not even just possession wise but goals for and against too.

Some people are stuck in the past, still want to waste a spot on a thug who can't play and "stay at home dman" which really just means guy who can't get out of his zone

This is what i like about Dermott..

He never does that...

Sometimes he makes me start yelling at him to (frank)ing start the play instead of standing behind the net. But i guess that better than giving away possession.
