No they're not. But the crowds were pretty decent when the played in the city. I've been to a game there. As we all know, it's like having the Canucks playing in Abbotsford or Chilliwack. The thing is, we have Surrey and Langely close by. Not the case in Glendale. I certainly wouldn't wanna be a season ticket holder with that arena location.

How the F does the NHL not intervene in these areas projects?

Glendale
Sunrise
Kanata

Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out it won't work. Especially with non traditional hockey markets. Makes it even worse!

Phoenix is a decent hockey market but the arena's in a bad local. The east valley or downtown is the proper locations.

So Nick Schmaltz was 3 points behind Brock Boeser ....both are young skilled players ...that trade would be a wash ? Lol

No chance lol

What is wrong with Nick Smaltz?

Is it ? There seems to be a few internal problems with that team . Lots of reports of hangovers and coaches throwing sticks into stands . Does not sound like a real solid locker room . Anyways every year I hear how good they are and we usually end up winning the season series and finish a few points apart, need to see some proof of how good they got this year.

Every year we hear about their D being so good. But it never really is. I don't know about their room situation. Young guys or older guys the problem? Maybe they need to back up the Brinks truck for more intangibles. Beagle/Guddy/Sutter. Or just have more guys that prefer a trip to the museum rather than The Drunken Clam.
Still they are good enough to make it. A healthy year from Smith is vital.

Never understood why it's so popular. It's ok. I guess the live band aspect makes it special. It's certainly no Ozone.

When 4 teams come knocking on your door asking about Sutter then he probably isn't an intangible

I don't understand the early hate for Beagle with this fan base , again multiple wanted his service. You need to overpay because no one will come to this team otherwise. How do you think he would respond when he hears that he gets a chance to play with Gaunce

For the record, I'm not against the signings. But we do have some pretty good leaders in the room. Guys that don't necessarily provide much offence. But a "good room" is very important in hockey. I play a lot myself. I've never been on a team that wasn't a tight group, but still won.

Beagles was 1 year too long. whatever, we'll manage.

The only way Beagle was choosing us over the Hawks or any other team is to overpay. That is just the way it will be until we start winning. The good thing is we don't have to go UFA shopping now for a few years and we still have 10 mil in cap space

I'm not a fan of the new playoff format...the whole divisional thing is stupid, just a regional load of crap....IMO, the 1-8 conference format makes more sense...the best rise to the top regardless of division...it was awesome to see an 8th seed knockout the 1 seed....have fun with your President's Cup, see ya next fall.

Yes those days were good but i still like the inter-division rivalry more. More hate & fun. Yes the fall thats what happens to the Canucks most likely. The season starts & ends in the fall πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Do I think the Canucks are a good team this year or next ? Hell No

Do I think they are going in the right direction . Definitely.

I think they have a pretty well set team right now and for a few years . It is not a good team at present but now we are at the point when players are ready we pluck an old one out and put a new better one in.

We currently have 4 LHD close to ready Hughes OJ Brisebois and Sautner. At the end of this year Edler MDZ expire and Hutton is a RFA whom I doubt we offer him anything over 2.6 so he becomes a UFA. They can resign one if they chose.

RHD is not as bright but we do have Tanev Stecher signed for 2 more and Gudbrandson for 3 . I am not thrilled but they can hold the fort.

Bottom 6 forwards are locked in and same thing replace one at a time when MacEwan Lind Palmu and Gadjovich are ready.

Cap space and RFAs are in check. Brock will get a nice raise next year .

Now it comes down to draft and develop. No reason to hurry players now. Teams get in trouble when they go shopping for top 6 forwards Like Eriksson Lucic and so on or top 4 D. Just keep making sure we go into the drafts with 7 or more picks and no more fast tracking .

I’d like to add after 4yrs & 5 drafts the future seems more clear. By that i mean we have a prospect pool. We have control of contracts & not overly hamstrung with NTC/NMC’s. Key positions are filling up with RHD still a need. This year should be fun & our record irrelevant. Probably more interested in seeing what TG can do in his 2nd season firming up our playing style & how well he can teach the kids. He has the vets but also integrating the youth will be his biggest challenge. Its the crossroads for him early into his NHL career & how he fares will ultimately be the difference.

Can he bring JV to the next level?
His teams works hard & have shown a no quit resilience.
Can his tough love work?
I guess thats up to character of the players.
