On the Flames i like both Monahan & Backlund. Too bad not enough good wingers to go around. None in the system but Neal was a nice signing.

Dweeb (insert Kadri) whine about how unfair the PO match ups are. Send him a brick of Armstrong cheese. Out west for years its tough to make the Finals going through many good teams. It made for great hockey & what any true fan wants.

I think SJ being the clear cut winners in our division this year.

I think Vegas will drop 20 pts with a sophomore year and really they are not that talented.

I see Ducks and Kings dropping in the standings age and slowness the factor.

I think Flames Canucks and Oilers will all be within 6 points of each other in the 80 -86 pt range

Arizona clear cut losers. The team is a joke

- VANTEL

I think its wide open. It seems the Flames keep rearranging the deck chairs. As little as we may expect from them, they just need to get in. You never know.

I'm gonna venture a guess and say Arizona will be better than most people think. But won't make the playoffs.

The Oil just aren't deep enough. But if they can get off to a better start it can be 2016-2017 over again.

Ducks are in trouble. They need to move Perry if they can. Move Getzlaf while he still has good value. Sutter for their 1st? They'll miss the playoffs.

San Jose is my pick to win the division. But I don't like their prospect pool or aging core with high cap hit, long term contracts.

I agree with your Vegas assessment. But, I could actually see them missing. For their fans sake, hopefully McPhee holds onto his future assets and stays the course.

I have no clue what LA will be. I could see them crashing and burning, or winning the division. So, somewhere in between. 2nd to 3rd.

Canucks, I just hope we have two young entertaining lines that show a ton of promise. But we need another top pick. So.....Bottom 7 team again.

You brought in James Neal and removed Ferland which is a wash.

Lindholm didn't even have as many points as an old slow Daniel Sedin. Hold the press Flames signed an 40 point player

I stopped reading after you said Ferland and Neal was a wash

You’re better than that

They were three points apart last year and play the same physical game . WTH is wrong with that comparison ?

I definitely don’t think the flames are in bad shape lol they upgraded their secondary scoring tremendously ...they have young talent to good contracts ....the big question marks will be Smiths health and how Hanifin plays

The leafs added John tavaras ...he had the ability to make you and lefty 15-20 goal scorers ...their top 9 will be very dangerous and score a lot

- Redmile247

Thats' really the key to everything. He can lead them to the playoffs and beyond. Or they'll crash and burn. But they have their 1st this year, so thats cool.

wouldn't surprise me to see ARZ ahead of ANA either. I think things can really go south on the ducks this year. They need to bring up Steel. Show him the ropes. Kes wanted out so he could win a Cup. Fail.

I'm not a fan of the new playoff format...the whole divisional thing is stupid, just a regional load of crap....IMO, the 1-8 conference format makes more sense...the best rise to the top regardless of division...it was awesome to see an 8th seed knockout the 1 seed....have fun with your President's Cup, see ya next fall.

So Nick Schmaltz was 3 points behind Brock Boeser ....both are young skilled players ...that trade would be a wash ? Lol

No chance lol

No they're not. But the crowds were pretty decent when the played in the city. I've been to a game there. As we all know, it's like having the Canucks playing in Abbotsford or Chilliwack. The thing is, we have Surrey and Langely close by. Not the case in Glendale. I certainly wouldn't wanna be a season ticket holder with that arena location.

How the F does the NHL not intervene in these areas projects?

Glendale
Sunrise
Kanata

Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out it won't work. Especially with non traditional hockey markets. Makes it even worse!

Is it ? There seems to be a few internal problems with that team . Lots of reports of hangovers and coaches throwing sticks into stands . Does not sound like a real solid locker room . Anyways every year I hear how good they are and we usually end up winning the season series and finish a few points apart, need to see some proof of how good they got this year.
