There haven’t been any trades because teams don’t want a bottom feeders scraps. The only trade they can make is tanev and then where will our d be? No quick fix - CanuckDon

No obviously no quick fixes but I thought we'd see a trade, like I said even a lateral one. |

I think Hutton will have a nice bounce-back year. |

Right now Gudbrandsons trade value sucks. If he makes a few big hits, wins a few big fights it improves.
Tanev has a good year this year and next and Hughes and OJ benefit then why not wait until the end ? Right now he is worth a second because of injury . Let him up his value as the young players benefit.
No other D have value except MDZ for a desperate team at TDL |

Lots of smaller centers listed and smaller D for next year . Too early for me to know much about them . Lots of LHD also not RHD. Maybe next year best to take a center. |

Just replaced all 4 tires and wiper blades Pile that on with dentist visits it's like money going down the sh1tter .
No one has heard from Makita since the Troy Boy signing, I hope he is okay. |

So they signed Stecher, Makita will be happy about that. I thought the big deal at the end of the year was they had to fix the defence? Same guys are all coming back. Didn't they produce the least amount of offence from their defence in the entire league? - LeftCoaster
Defense or goaltending, but either way ya nothing changed and our back end is ready to produce another #top5pick2019

I watched newhook play in Vic a few times, the kid is ridiculous in terms of puck skills/shot/passing. Easy top5 pick imo |

This is why I don't think Canucks will be as bad as last year.
Everyone talks about the replacing the Sedins and their 50 pts each. The Sedins did get 50 each but hey also probably accounted for 30 goals against also. They were a liability defensively.
Lets say Sutter steps in ,who had 30 pts last year with the teams most unfavorable starts. Moving him up and playing more minutes in more favorable starts playing with a skilled winger who will pass to him should increase his numbers anywhere from 10-25 pts extra. So the second line center position held by Henrik should not see a huge drop off. I will say Daniels replacement should be EP who should also put up numbers of at least 40 in his first year.
The second line numbers should be better overall seeing they will be better defensively.
Third line again should be better Beagle taking Sutters defensive role with more time than he played last year. Guys like Leipsic Goldy Granlund Gagner Jake should be filling in the wings and hopefully maintaining or improving on last years numbers.
Our fourth line numbers were horrible last year and have only one way to go.
I think the D will be fine this year and hopefully Markstrom Demko are the two starters. |

As much as I have hated Edler over the years I think him and Sutter are the new team leaders and will be here for a while.
I heard Cam Robinson on the radio yesterday . He thinks the second line will start with Loui Sutter and EP this year. That is the scenario I thought of too. I can see that for a while.
Yesterday I wrote a projection of my future lineup that got slack from many but I do think the start of next year will be conservative and sheltering. - VANTEL
Yes i believe your right a conservative start to the season. Another season for the system to take root & also auditions for some players to see if tradeable.

I didn't actually say that, although I agreed with them, Benning is the one who said they need to improve their defence. Just wondering why no trades, even lateral ones to mix things up. - LeftCoaster
Teams are in a big holding pattern. Don’t expect moves til training camp or the seasons start. |

Half a summer left they will probably try to move Hutton. This is MDZ last year of contract so he will be moved at TDL in comes OJ . It is working out perfectly. - VANTEL
High probability of something like that👍 |

That's pretty hopeful.
A lot of things have to go right to make this happen.
I don't see it happening but I appreciate your confidence. |
