Ken Daneyko is the greatest dman of all time and his best season was 21 points.

I agree that the recurrent injuries are problematic.

Good news is, the injuries are not the same problem repeating, so it could either mean the guy is injury prone, or has been unlucky for a few years.

And having injury problems takes nothing away from his ability to be a defensive staple or produce at a decent pace when he IS playing.

- Scabeh

haven't look at stats, but how were Trouba's numbers prior to and post his injury last year?

and - just because its necessary for transparency reasons...

how are Karlsson's number before and after his injury - let's do that comparison as well

I'm not sold on him. I think he's been filled with hype and potential since his draft day but it doesn't look like he's lived up to it, especially if he wants 7 million a year.
- Unholy_Goalie

It's a weird and interesting case imo.

The man has alot of things going his way and his overall play has been excellent (he was dominating at times during the last playoffs).

But he's also been playing behind big Buff in most offensive situation.... So his point is that he should be paid as a first pairing defenseman, or at least shouldn't be penalized for how the Jets use him (mostly as a shutdown guy).

While the Jets will point out his "ok" numbers over the years and obviously the injuries he suffered.

I have no idea how the arbitration will turn out, but it'll be interesting.

If Keon was still playing, I'd have other ways to evaluate his contribution, but i'll take your word for it since it's way before my time.

Actually there is a way. Subscribe to Leafs-TV. They show lots of vintage games. Amazing really to watch a full game from days gone by.

His production actually ramped up after his injury because Big Buff missed a few games and he got the 1st powerplay wave for a few games.

And his best moments overall, despite a low point production, was his shutdown role in the playoffs. It was superb.

I love watching hockey, but I don't have the time to watch old games.

And subscribe to Leafs TV? Dude I'm a Habs fan.

might be a learning experience for you... watch Leafs Habs games from back in the day..

with Leaf coverage instead of RadioCanada "fake news" coverage...

you probably find out that the Rocket did actually do anything at all when the city rioted

I agree that he will be very good, also think that Hanifin will be great. Jack Johnson and Adam Larsson were also thought of highly - turned out really bad for the teams that drafted them.

Considering Johnson was traded for Jeff Carter and Larsson got the Devils Hall... I think the team that drafted them turned out pretty well.

you are correct, return on trade was good, the production while playing for - not so much.

30 point defenseman with disappointing shot suppression numbers. So, not really, he doesn't do either very well.
- Unholy_Goalie

Yea, his numbers when he was injured and not playing were brutal.

It's a weird thing when Trouba and Tanev are mentioned as guys the Leafs should go after to help their D.

(frank) it. Get both of them and we'll get 82 games out of them combined.

Let's not go after Trouba.

Let's pick a dman up at the deadline and then wait for Lillybust the season after.

Dude I just don't understand what you're saying, because to me, your sentence doesn't make sense.

" that the Rocket did actually do anything at all when the city rioted"

Do you mean he did do something or didn't?

I can't debate something I don't understand.
