Grant had a Shooting percentage of 18.5% last year. Every other year (~86 games total) it was 0%.

I think it's insurance, but I do think it means we will see less of ZAR and Simon.

Hagelin-Sheahan-Rust/Sprong
Cullen-Grant-Rust/Sprong

Weird...

The 3C position has a lot of value, could be to try and trade one at some point.

I really dont see the Pens extending Brassard at $5+ or whatever he will get from someone. Is Sheahan can repeat his performance I dont see Brassard finishing the season as a Pen.

As an overall signing it's not bad. Insurance depth move, low-risk/high-reward. It becomes a bad signing if he's actually chasing anyone out of the lineup.

Why not? Brassard was starting to take off before he incurred his injury. If he has the type of season that everyone was originally hoping for now that he's acclimated and healthy, he could be a huge piece to this puzzle... if he plays 3C that is.

I feel like the Pens have a lot of fait in Sheahan right now. They clearly want him to prove his worth one more time, but they are surrounding him with guys who could take his job.

Yeah this is the second year in a row where keeping him/bringing him back made a lot of sense for the Pens. Don't really know why we haven't done so. The guy is a 2016 Matt Cullen level 4th liner at this point in his career.

maybe they just all wanted to move on? I got him wanting to go to Tampa to take another shot at the cup, but Chicago? No offense to the fans, but they don't have much hope these days.

Better than opening the year with McKegg. Rutherford is probably haunted by that decision and is making sure center depth is covered. A lot easier to sign a center now than trade for an overpriced one at the deadline

Lol... This is what I said. Starting the season with Mckegg and Rowney scarred him for life.
