I think Quenneville is on the opening night roster. I think that's the best place for him at this point. If he's put in the work over the offseason and stays healthy he has the talent to be a useful bottom-6 contributor. I've never been wowed by his game in his short NHL stints over the last two seasons, but I've also never thought he's looked out of place either.
If there's another prospect that makes the opening night roster, I don't think it's Anderson or McLeod. I think it'll be Seney. He showed well in Binghamton in his short stint, and with a full summer of training I think he might be able to make the jump.

Keep an eye on Seney. I think he's our next diamond in the rough. |

I know secondary scoring was a issue last season and Shero didn’t do anything to address the issue this offseason but with all the young players on the Devils like Bratt, Wood Zacha and hopefully a full season from Mojo it’s very possible the issue is addressed from within, my concern is with the defense would of really like the see De Haan added this offseason |

Hopefully Quenneville and Anderson can show well at camp and make the team to add a little something to the bottom six. It isn't going to do McLeod/Speers any good to be thrust into those roles. This defense is going to be such a tire-fire, constantly being bogged down in their own end is hardly the best thing for their development. |

our future is in Zacha's hands, IMO.. which is why I harp on him so much. He's supposed to be a legit 2nd line center.. which is a HUGE role on a team. fingers crossed. |

If that's what you really believe, then you should also believe the future is not very bright for NJD. |

You wonder how Hall feels about Sheros lack of activity this summer...something tells me if Devs dont make playoffs this year TH will play out contract and go somewhere that is poised to win a Cup quicker. |

If you read all of Halls interviews since being here you would know that he’s finally happy to be somewhere that he feels comfortable and is appreciated don’t let what happened to Tavares blind you from that and also the fact that very few star players don’t resign with their teams can only name a handful that have left in recent memory so the odds are in favor of him signing an extension plus he knows the devils have a bright future why wouldn’t he want to be a part of that |

I think Shero's biggest add before the season starts would be a second RW.
Hall-Nico - Palmieri
Mojo - Zacha - ???
Wood - Zajac - Bratt
Coleman - Boyle- Noesen
Or do we bring p Quenneville . Does he play RW???
New Jersey Devils prospect John Quenneville had high expectations coming into the 2017-18 season, but various injuries held him back and the 2013 first-round pick is starting to run out of chances to develop into the highly-touted prospect. In fact, in the team’s exit meeting with Queenville, the team was quite frank with the 22-year-old, telling him to get into shape. The Athletic’s Corey Masisak (subscription required) writes that Quenneville has done just that this offseason, working with a sports trainer alongside many athletes, including the New York Islanders’ Johnny Boychuk. He has already got himself to 210 pounds with just 9.3 percent body weight in hopes of finding a regular role in New Jersey. He only played two games for New Jersey and managed just 43 in Binghampton, posting 14 goals and 34 points.
Under this Scenario
Hall-Nico -Palmieri
Mojo - Zacha - Quenneville
Wood - Boyle - Bratt
Coleman - zajac -Noesen

If he is 210 with 9.3 body fat, the dude is a solid rock. That's almost shredded.
Side note. I used to work at the Staples in Totowa and Langenbrunner came in with his girl. He isnt that tall but you could tell he was a mountain to move. He just looked like his feet were planted and you aint moving him.

9.3 is not shredded. It's good and on the leaner side, but no better than average for an athlete. |

yup. There's a reason I've been behind a top 5 pick last year.. and since we didn't get it last year, this year. We know the play of Hall, Schneider, Vatanen, Palmieri, and have a pretty good guess at what Hischier will bring. But you need that 2nd line beast to make the team a contender for the future.. and Zacha hasn't shown he can be that yet. |

I don't know if Q was ever that highly touted. When he was drafted, he was projected as a #3C who can slot in for injured guys, a player to Henrique's mold. I don't see any reason to believe otherwise at this point, though I expected him on the roster last year and it's surprising to hear that the training staff told him to whip up. Wonder if he has motivational issues. Hopefully he conducts himself professionally from here on in. |
