You put out some great stuff! In previous posts, you prospect/NHL comparisons and the one that struck me the most was the Shalunov/Kunetszov. If he turns out be Kuneyszov Light, it would be an awesome coup because I think the world of Kunetszov and see him as one of the best skaters in NHL. And we have already about the staunch comparison of Boqvist/Karlson which would be other to turn heads and get us excited about! - D2D
Thanks!
To clarify, the Kuznetsov comparable is for Kurashev, not Shalunov. I think Shalunov's comparable is a higher-end version of Anisimov. In terms of projectable stats, I'd be happy if he output Anisimov numbers of 20+ goals and 40+ points with the potential for 25 G and 50 P. |

The other comparison was Beaudin/Provorov. Having watched Provorov progressed back in the USHL with the Rough Riders to now is amazing. While he still has to clean up his D zone work and turnover rate, he definitely is a first pairing Dman, if not now then soon. The one thing about Provorov is his skating ability and hands to go along with it; he makes things look so effortlessly and efficient! So if Beaudin can emulate that it would be thus another coup. - D2D
The bolded part was an observation that a few had about both Beaudin and Boqvist during camp: their puck handling skills were very refined and effortless. Subtle yet high end talent in this regard. |

Your point still stands that it would be great if Kurashev was even half of Kuznetsov's capacity. |

Nevermind lol "The Jets now have 48 hours to decide whether they will accept the arbitrator’s decision or decline it and let Trouba become an unrestricted free agent."
Jets originally had filed for $4 million....he wanted 7. Crossing my fingers Jets decline lol |

No way do they not sign him.......5.5 mil it is and a modified contract on Trouba part so that he has some control of where he gets traded down the road would be my guess. |

No problem the trade was just suggestion in case the 2 parties did not come to agreement. As far as compensation I believe is:
6 million or more 1st 2nd 3rd
4 to 5 million 1st and 3rd
3 to 5million 2nd
1 to 3 million is a 3rd
Something along those lines I might mistaken but its similar to that. - Scott1977
Close
1.34-2.03m = 3rd
2.03-4.06m = 2nd
4.06-6.09m = 1st + 3rd
6.09-8.12m = 1st + 2nd + 3rd
8.12-10.15m = 1st + 1st +2n
10.15m and above = 4 x 1st
Most GMs don't offer sheet because 1) the compensation for the guys worth offer sheeting is usually at least in the 1st + 2nd + 3rd pick range (Trouba, for example); 2) rarely does it work (only Penner has moved teams); and 3) there is a negative response from all other GMs. O'Reilly in 2013 was the last player to even be offered and there were reports of other GMs not wanting to work with Feaster after it (he was fired in December later that year). |

The local flavor OF COARSE is the high end skill 2018 draft dmen and couple others whom like Hillman - who has the impressed late season & has some nastiness in his game.
Mitchell too was quickly a focal point. He has been highly touted for a while.
Two not "hot" enough to cover the did, in fact , receive praise as steadily improving past two seasons, according to The Athletic. Tuulola can skate like heck and Carlsson is the shutdown dman, explained The Athletic writer.
Fact;. Tuulola stepped in AHL playoffs three last and looked solid, a hockeybuzz entry said about the games seen.
These two were signed to contracts. They are likely closer to NHL than those glamourous those reporters and Justin chose to comment. I am guessing that while Justin doesn't know enough about ALL prospects, the scouts, staff/Bowman know. |

I get the flip, ‘all is woe’ post, but, realistically:
If CC plays, that’s a significant improvement, replacing the revolving door of AHL goalies with an NHL All-Star, 2 time SC winner.
As they say in MLB, it’s likely players with a down year rebound to their norm. Think Jason Heyward, then Saad & Toews.
Most times, rookies improve in their second or third season, after getting experience at the NHL level. There are a bunch of young guys that can take a step up.
The off-season acquisitions are not done yet. There are potential additions, with or without subtractions.
I expect a playoff season, and not through the wild card. |

Interesting! They were able to steal him fro the Marlies, then.
He's probably maxed out on players wanting his services, but wish Kaner would throw a few of his own sessions this summer Toews' way. - pdx2ord
Kane got Schmaltz and Hartman invites to work with him last summer, so if Toews wanted to work with him, he totally could. Kane is one of his oldest clients - been working with him since he was 9/10, back when he only worked with kids. Maybe he will since Toews seems to be in Chicago this summer, like Kane. |

the Jets are running out of cap space with multiple free agents still to sign. Does Stan go for Myers and then try to move Ruuta for a forward?

The PEG would be crazy to let him go w/o any compensation. $5.5M isn't bad given the crazy cash being handed out. Take it, keep the kid and deal with the situation next June. |

Good for them. CASH cow. At least the ones in SCH & CL. If that was a true franchisee opportunity, I would have jumped all over it years ago. |

If they accept Trouba at $5.5m, they still have $12.9m in space and only Morrissey, Tanev, and Dano to sign. Morrissey is the only one that should get any real money but still probably not a huge amount. Tanev had only 18 points and Dano only 3 (after playing in only 23 games) - they're looking at 4th line money lbr.
Jets might want to move Myers or Wheeler anyway simply because they're UFA at the end of the year, if they don't resign them. |
