I always had hopes Weal was going to be great at the shoot out. I think Hak has the same opinion because he called for Weal a bunch at least earlier part of the season. He ended up 2 for 7 for 28% which isn’t terrible. I think 2ndvon the team after Jake. |

Mono, stop playing Warframe. the only good thing about that game is the movement. everything else is hot garbage. - Mordecai
I only played it because my friend, who is really good at it and loves it and has spent way too many hours on it, was excited to show me the ropes. I played it for a few hours, it was mildly fun, but I don't exactly plan to play endless hours on it or really care about the crafting. I'm not really into those gear hoarding Destiny games anyway, and it seemed rather repetitive and self-serious and PvE dungeons gets old. Just tried it to play with my friend in short spurts. I tried Smite earlier with him, and I was not having it. People are too good at it, I don't play MOBAs, and yuck. At least this I can shoulder shrug play.
And by the way you little biyatch, my #1 and #2 games are still NHL and Fortnite (won 3 duos games today, couple top 3 finishes), both of which you're on plenty. So, instead of complaining about Warframe, send me a message and I WILL PLAY NOT WARFRAME WITH YOU. I just took my dog out, I'm going back to bed, I hate you, I love you, I hate that I love you. |

Back in my day we had to play board games, board games I tell ya!! Now this was back in the dark ages, aka the 70s. Now I remember those times sonny, yes I do. It was a fine spring morning. I was riding my pet triceratops and for the life of me I couldn’t recall where I put my favorite hat. Now the missus wanted me to call Pepperidge Farms, because Pepperidge Farm remembers but this is the same woman who once gave the Loch Ness monster tree fitty so I wasn’t gonna pay no never mind to her, no sirree! So anyhow, there I am on my mastodon and did I mention how fine a day it was? Well, it was...hey, where you kids goin? I was just getting to the good part.
Damn kids, no respect for their elders. None at all I tell ya! |

Call me spoiled but I want a three line threat back in Philadelphia.
Amonte-Zhamnov-Roenick
LeClair-Handzus-Recchi
Gagne-Primeau-Kapanen
Brashear-Sharp/Lapointe-Radivojevic
Gagne/Prospal-Briere-Knuble
Hartnell-Carter-Upshall
Umberger-Richards-Lupul
Cote-Dowd-Kapanen
Hartnell-Briere-Leino
Gagne-Richards-Carter
JvR-Giroux-Briere
Powe-Betts-Laperriere
Carrillo/Asham - SuperSchennBros
Why would you be spoiled? All those years were good Flyer years with good looking lineups on paper. Memories can be a tricky thing sometimes. I remember the depth of those teams, but also remember the inconsistencies of scoring at times from all those lineups. The one thing that all 3 lineups have in common? They all went past the 1st round in the playoffs. Other than that, the current team has just as much depth on paper. So welcome to being spoiled again. |

Yup and a better and more balanced lineup is coming, probably need just one more year and by 19-20, assuming Simmer is moved during the upcomign season for picks/prospects which is the likely return since it will probably be a top contender that is acquiring him, it could look like:
Giroux-Couturier-TK
Ratcliffe or Lindblom-Patrick-Voracek
JVR-Frost-Lindblom or Allison
Laughton-Vorobyev-NAK |

True, but Giroux and Couturier just had career years playing on a line together. I don't think it's about whether G plays wing or center as much as it keeping those 2 together on the same line.

How much do you think Konecny brings to that line? Or do you look forward to the coach experimenting?

Hard to say as they were just as good, if not better, at the start of the season with Jake on the line. I wouldn't mind experimenting and trying to get 3 lines that can score. I give the following a look in preseason:
Coots-G-Jake
JVR-Patrick-Lindblom
TK-Laughton-Simmonds
You know that first line will score. Lindblom has already shown some good chemistry with Patrick and can play either side. He also helps mitigate JVR being a little weak defensively. Putting TK with his explosiveness and skill on a line with Simmonds and Laughton gives that line a guy that can create offense and that should help bring out the best in the other 2. Plus, you have the added benefit of Simmonds being there to save TK's life when he pisses off the wrong guy, LOL.

SO I was looking at the Flyers depth chart and noticed Noah Cates, the kid they drafted out of high school. I don't remember hearing his name mentioned at the development camp. Anyone know what the word is on his progress??? |

Playing with Couturier will make anyone better. I prefer that they keep Konecny on the RW if they are going to use G and Coots as a pairing. I prefer Jake with JVR, but the two top RW spots are pretty interchangeable.
Before we give the horse a proper burial though...IMO the most balanced, consistent top 9 is marginally equal ice time given out to the following lines:
Lindblom-Patrick-Voracek
Laughton-Coots-Konecny
JVR-Giroux-Simmonds
They can load up the top 6 later in games if they need to with:
Giroux - Coots - Jake/Konecny
JVR - Patrick - Konecny/Jake |

An interesting take on line combos.
G and Coots chemistry from last year with the already known chemistry with V.
JvR-Patrick-Lindblom would concern me a bit. Yes they may develop a strong cycle game and hopefully possession. Seems like a lot of crash for one line though, unless Patrick develops more confidence with his perimeter shooting. The kid really does have a nice shot and his vision could be useful to play half wall a little bit more because JvR will be parked in front of the net for sure.
I love the line with TK and Simmonds, they showed some chemistry at times last year, while TK stretches the ice and has shown he can be a sniper, all of them are a bit aggressive at times too. Pretty much falls on Laughton for that line, he can skate and at times shown pretty good playmaking ability. Could be a surprise element Flyers haven't seen in a bit. |

The thing about the Flyers depth this coming year is the abundance of options. The lines will be changed throughout the year, no such thing as static lines in the NHL. The fact the top 9 can be switched around so much and still look good is very exciting. Not many teams can do that. |
