Flyers: Struck out on Tavares
Sixers: Struck out on Kawhi
Phillies: Struck out on Machado and still need pitching
at least we got the 2018 SUPERBOWL CHAMPION EAGLES! - 2Real

Bad news everyone!
The 2018-2019 season has been cancelled. Toronto Maple Leafs have been named Stanley Cup Champs. It was a good run, maybe next year. |

I think it is short-sighted to trade him over a single down time. Look back at Giroux’s 2016-17 season. It would have been an extremely big mistake to trade him. - NC Flyers Fan
Giroux and Simmonds will never be comparable. You know what? People bring up how putting Giroux on the wing will leave him less likely to gain more wear and tear. Kurr and LeClair are two of the most beaten up, skilled players I’ve ever seen play here. Simmonds is the most current of the beaten up players on this team at wing.
However, two different skill sets. Two different roles on this team. Simmonds plays a style that is gonna best him up. Simmonds is more likely to wear down way ahead of G. G will always collect more points no matter his health because G is better then Simmonds. |

You know you can believe whatever you want, but Giroux bounce back year wasn't only due to health. Constantly saying the move to wing is to keep him healthy is just plain incorrect, at least the stats don't lie like over a 1000 face-offs taken. Even at center it wasn't like he was standing in front of the net like a Kerr or Leclair. The larger part was to play with Couturier, both could swap out for face-offs depending on the situation and very versatile.
Now this isn't completely directed at just you, just anyone I have seen talking about moving G back to center. I am fine with G going back center as long as Coots plays on his wing. |

This is kind of picking at straws, but I'm not a fan of saying "scoring" lines either. I just want 4 lines that contribute positive things. - Glak18

Wingers have to get in front of point shots, which can cause wingers damage. Wingers also have to be able to Absorb hits along the wall. You can hurt at any position. I don’t believe Giroux is limited wear and tear by moving to wing. I agree Giroux gets more offensive looks at the net as a winger, being also requires a lot of skating on the forecheck and back check.
As for Couturier, even if he doesn’t chip in offensively, he makes his wingers better from a plus/minus standpoint by being so sound defensively. Couturier is good for this no matter who he plays with, which has been proven.
This isn’t an argument for Giroux to play center over wing. I just don’t buy the switch limits wear and tear. It’s a ridiculous point in my point. Hockey is a fast game and a game of risk. |

I thought Gagne played pretty well in Tampa. He helped them make a deep run in the playoffs before they were stopped by Tim Thomas. - Saux21
I always felt Gagne helped any team he played on as long as he was healthy enough to play. He didn’t have to score to be effective and I thought he changed to dynamic of that 2012-13 half season team when he returned here. He was responsible defensively that landed him on the top line with G and Jake, he was always first forward back and we went into a playoff push after his return. |

Never meant to compare the players, just their injury situation.
BTW, I think guys can get hurt equally on wing or at center. |
