Not good enough to carry a top 9 line, agreed. But you put him with skilled players, I think he can be good. Top 6 are definitely set, but if Lindblom builds on last season, Simmonds is healthy, and Laughton doesn't blow them away at 3C, I would like to see him in there.

I would like to see Weal score 30 goals too, but wish in one hand, poop in the other...

Right, but what does that have to do with Weise?
- jmatchett383

Have you seen his contract? Good money for watching a hockey game.

Yes...

I'm sorry, I'm really not following, unless you're just saying that Weise and Cleary, and the contracts they were offered, are basically the same thing.

Basically saying it's pretty much a similar situation and Weise jumped on it, whereas Cleary is kicking himself. Sorry I didn't realize the joke would be that confusing. At least I giggled.

So

Flyers: Struck out on Tavares
Sixers: Struck out on Kawhi
Phillies: Struck out on Machado and still need pitching

at least we got the 2018 SUPERBOWL CHAMPION EAGLES!

Personally I think it was embarrassing and a black eye for Hakstol that Weise was even reinserted into the lineup.

In the games leading up to his long stretch of healthy scratches, the dude flat out showed zero effort. It was a cardinal sin and one that should’ve kept him on the bench barring showing the coach something miraculous.

TK should be top 6. I think Simmonds needs more time to come back to 100% from his injuries, but I don’t think he should be traded. I think he should be resigned and given a lighter load for this season. I see him on the 4th line and 2nd PP this year.
I am not sure if Flyers coaches are sold on Laughton at center. He is a excellent 4th liner even at LW.

I'll just say I don't see Simmonds on the 4th line. Look at his production last season even with multiple injuries affecting him all season.

Simmonds may be playing on the "3rd line", but he will still get his ice time to be considered a top 6 forward.

You know, some should stop looking at it like the 3rd line is a demotion or something. A comment was made in a previous post how bad it would be if Konecny was on the 3rd line. Phil Kessel at times on Pittsburgh has played on the "3rd" line. In todays NHL you need at least 3 scoring lines to be a top team. If a player like Konecny or any other player can add depth and make another line a strength than that's a good thing, not a bad thing. Any other thought is not only wrong but also archaic.

This is kind of picking at straws, but I'm not a fan of saying "scoring" lines either. I just want 4 lines that contribute positive things.

That's the Philly Newspaper getting you all hyped up then let down. Today, they moved on from Machado, and are teasing with Mike Trout. They can ride that all winter, promising April will be Trout season

In his own right, Gagne was never again a healthy player. The 2010 playoffs were the last time he looked like the player who had been a star for much of the first decade of the 2000s.

I thought Gagne played pretty well in Tampa. He helped them make a deep run in the playoffs before they were stopped by Tim Thomas.
