Devastating. He is the only player worth watching. Although our fat friend Hefty disagrees

One day if he goes in depth into detail. The JB fixation & other surface chit chat leaves much to be desired. Many of us could get into the nuts & bolts better. Stats & salary only goes so far.

How about the state of our prospect pool & depth at positions & what more is needed?
Scoring D & gamebreakers? EP & Hughes great starts but still more is needed & the next step taken by many current players is needed or as JB said or fall through the cracks is upon a few now. Goldy Leipsic JV Hutton come to mind.

Lets all be honest...

Give your take on next season & seasons beyond that of what our talent is & will become as seasons go by?

This season i see some growth & emergence ready to bust out. Bo will bring more game. BB was no fluke & will be even better. D corp will be a better group being one year older & a fresh start. Marginal most likely but better overall as a group. Sedins leaving holes leaves it to someone to step up big & walk thru that door. In AG he is legit well rounded & EP prime to make a huge impact. JV can be the biggest surprise if he gets out of his fog. Leipsic i think can be the surprise of them all. Granlund is on a show me contract & will bounce back. That leaves the vets to earn their cheque & lead the kids.

Boeser's playing. Announcer got confused about which team he was on.

I believe he has a goal and an assist so far?

His Team Bic is up 6-2 on Tria at as we get close to halftime.

OK...I'll play.

For this season...
* I am not really interested in how the vets perform this year, as long as they provide space & time for the young players to develop, and JB manages to flip some for draft picks
* I expect to be frustrated by the difficulty the young players have in getting TOI
* I hope to be pleasantly surprised by one of the FAs, but would bet it will not be Beagle
* JV will make progress -- his last 20-25 games were encouraging. Maybe 20 goals, but ore importantly he'll begin to show he can dominate at times
* BB will continue to score
* Bo will not be significantly better, but that will be due to quality of players he gets matched up to by the opposition
* EP will take some time to adjust. It wouldn't shock me to see him really struggle for the couple of months (except on the power play)
* Goldobin won't play consistently...we'll worry about what he is telling Tree
* Tanev will get injured...we'll moan about lost value / opportunity at TDL
* OJ won't make the team (log jam on LHD)...we'll scream, fans will cry "bust"
* Hughes probably goes back to Michigan (log jam on LHD, "better for him to develop")...we'll scream, fans will worry (unnecessarily) about the possibility of him not signing here
* Demko will make it to the show during the season (injury or TDL call up) and give us some hope in goal (for the future, not now)

...we'll lose lots of games, but it will be more entertaining (faster pace & more goals) and we'll win a few more in overtime and shoot outs. I expect the 'Nucks to be in the draft lottery with decent odds at a high pick, and to see lots of encouraging signs, just not as much of the kids as I would (personally) like.

Next season ('19-'20) I think we're an improving team. EP, OJ, BB, Bo, Hughes, Demko at least, possibly a couple of others (Palmu? Woo? Gads? Dahlen?). I'm optimistic that next year could be the turning point. A very high O-RHD or C draft pick would speed things up from there.

Shockingly I agree with Manvan . I think there will be slight improvement. I do care how the vets play. I think there now is a team in place for the next 4 years. There are players moving out next year and the year after and players moving in.

I like that bubble players need to step up there game or they will be replaced. I like that players can't take a month off.

Look at players like Goldobin who are buying in and training bloody hard. It is time to put up or move over , unless you want to get run over.

I think some players numbers will improve because of favorable zone starts.

I do also like we have a real bottom 6 now and not an AHL reject list .

Don't think there are any points here which I disagreed with, other than we might (?) have different perspectives on the vets. My expectation for them is to hustle, compete and create time & space. Make the team harder to play against, and a little harder to play for. What I meant is that I don't really care if Beagle scores 10 or 15, or Eriksson 10 or 20, except as that increases their eventual trade value.

Otherwise...

The two vets I think could be in trouble are Gagne and Eriksson . I want them to be replace because they are top 6 players and that means a prospect has graduated .

It's only Minivan who you usually disagree with.

I don't know what kind of improvement we will see. Realistically, I see a boost of probably 8-16 points only. That's only 4-8 more wins.

2nd straight hatty for Boeser. Seems like Brock and Casey are quite the tandem.

I think guys like Sutter Gagner Bo Brock Goldy Jake Leipsic will all benefit from better starts. I still expect Loui to be an emotionless d1ck.

I also think if Hughes signs that will help also. A transition Dman that can get the puck up there quickly will also boost numbers if he is effective

Hughes should help. I hope he helps. If he can even have a Will Butcher type season. 3rd pairing/ PP guy.

If he does make the team then they have an even bigger personnel issue.

I believe Hughes wants to sign...but I suspect he will not get a strong commitment from TG / JB that he'll get to play on the big team, and that he'll choose to return to college.

That choice has to be made well before training camp / pre-season, so its a big bet for both him and the team.

I don't see any issue. They move a player that has no chance of being part of the future.

Hutton has no chance of signing here next year seeing he is a RFA

Ben Hutton went into the summer looking to shed 20lbs and get stronger for next season. Apparently, he has 28 lbs to go.
