Call the police? You can’t be serious. Have you ever been in a situation like this, or are you just hypothesizing? Have you ever had to actually shoot at a person? Just hypothesizing again? Have you ever even seen a gun being fired in person in real life? Hypothesize much? You talk about adrenaline and nerves, those combined most of the time actually make people more clear headed and focused in reality.
Speaking from experience, the cops will take 20-30 mins to show up, then they’ll start talking poop to you and belittling you when they do, much less actually do anything at that point to mitigate the situation seeing how it happened 20-30 mins prior and the threat is long gone (if you’re still alive at that point.) Your fantasy world where all gets solved peacefully by the cops doesn’t exist, never has, and it never will. I will take my gun and ask questions and for forgiveness later. God willing I’ll never have to shoot at someone, but id rather have the option than not.

If Sam could produce at the C position it would give us the best chance at icing a competitive roster going forward.

Sheary-Eichel-Okposo
Erod-Mitts-Thompson
Berglund-Reinhart-Baptiste/Bailey
Smith-Malone-Pominville

It's great to hear about these young guys. I have the Sabres at 85-95 points. Some of these young unexpected guys need to step up.

How about a guy that comes in and wins a job out of camp?

- Boss34

I feel like the two of us have been on the same wavelength all summer long in these threads. I think they have a season like Carolina just had. Playing competitive games into March. But the Sabres are a wildcard. Could do worse, or could even be a surprise playoff team if Dahlin and Mitts grow up quickly and Eichel takes the next step in his development of being a 85-90 point guy. A lot of it will fall on how Hutton/Ullmark perform this year.

I went back and edited the post cause I forgot to include him. Also posted a mock lineup with him on the wing. Could both be totally wrong come September but fun to ponder.

Anyway you slice it we will have a lot of players vying for spots on the big club. A lot more competition for spots could push some guys to elevate their play.

He has it in him. He needs to play a full 82 game season. Advanced analytics say he’s a top 5 player in the entire NHL in zone exits, zone entries, puck possession. He has the talent. He just needs to start fast. Past couple of seasons he’s started slow then put together a stretch of 20 games where he puts up 30+ points. Consistency, staying healthy, and having guys like Sheary, Reinhart, Okposo finish off his passing plays will help. Also having Dahlin and Mitts on the PP should help those totals.

I just haven’t seen enough of Thompson to have him on the 2nd line right off the bat. Amazing how the depth at rw in the system equates to that being the day one lineup at rw. There are so many guys that have a shot at locking down the rw spots, someone has to step up and bring it.

Agreed, at least I want to agree. Let’s see it. Be the guy.
PP1 should include 9, 23, 37, and 26. Idgaf who else.

Better chance of Lehner making a save than u making a citizen’s arrest

Good luck in your own “shootout”

Maybe you’ll have better luck than Lehner?
But it’s probably gonna end badly

Depends where you are. If you're in a nice area, 5-8 minutes should be enough. If you're in a poopty neighborhood, the cops are but a figment of your imagination. You could have a full blown firefight between rival gangs and it would take 3 hours for the cops to get there. Partly out of self-preservation, things should be calm by then, and partly because they don't give a (frank). And good luck getting an ambulance, they won't go in until the cops get there. They'll literally sit there and watch you die if the cops aren't there.

Yeah, true
Hey just hope it doesn’t take too long to find chemistry & get guys situated into roles they can perform well in
If Housley is juggling lines all season,
it’s gonna be frustrating to watch

No you’ve done a wonderful job of sounding like it.

How the hell do you know how someone reacts .... give me a break... there are some people that just react... regardless... and most people who do that know they are the type to react. Not everyone cowers in a corner when something bad happens... not everyone panics, some are calm and cool in an emergency situation.

No one KNOWS how they’ll react in a situation like that
*I’m talking your average joe, not a police officer, ex-soldier, etc
That’s my point

I can tell u a first hand situation i was in
Last year, the shooting outside Frizzys on Allen... i was there

So this kid comes to the bar with a gun
And ya know what we all did?
Got our asses to the back game room & called the cops
Yeah, the guy he came back for got shot & killed
And that’s sh!tty
But if I, or anyone else, would’ve pulled out a gun on this guy...
then he likely opens fire with dozens of ppl in harms way
And then a lot of ppl could’ve got hurt or killed

Now maybe someone actually trained for that type situation could’ve made a difference
Off duty cop, etc

Some dude who’s training involves shooting at the range... probably makes things worse

The average person shouldn’t pull a gun and ESCALATE the situation
That’s just dumb
And will lead to more ppl getting hurt

You don’t turn a situation into a shootout
Even the Cops try to avoid that

It’s not a movie bro, it’s real life

Well most of us don’t have a DEATH WISH
(See what i did there?)

Yeah... Gerbe was in a no win situation
That last thing he should’ve done is pull a gun & try to make a citizen’s arrest
Get real
That would’ve escalated into a shootout
On a public street

All due respect Homie,
but this isn’t a movie... it’s for real

I never said he should have used a gun once in this story, nor did I advise anyone to
