Does Reinhart not score more if he was on the Leafs?
Or if you would rather, wouldn't Willie have scored less here?

Just curious on your thoughts.
Full disclosure, I know WN is a better player than SR, just playing devil's advocate.

I think Nylander would do better here then Reinhart has. But yes Reinhart would perform better on the Leafs. He has played a majority of his time with O'Reilly and Eichel though. When asked to carry his own line and play the position he was drafted to play he had 11 points in 38 games (yes I know he didn’t play with good players but at the very least he should be able to at least make some sort of difference).

Just pointing out the hypocrisy of the hate for an "underperforming" 2 OA player vs. a 14 OA player.

Here is a list of 14 OA players

2014 - Julius Honka (Dallas)

2013 - Alexander Wennberg (Columbus)

2012 - Zemgus Girgensons (Buffalo) All-Star

2011 - Jamie Oleksiak (Dallas)

2010 - Jaden Schwartz (St. Louis)

2009 - Dmitri Kulikov (Florida)

2008 - Zach Boychuk (Carolina)

2007 - Kevin Shattenkirk (Colorado) All-Star

2006 - MIchael Grabner (Vancouver)

2005 - Sasha Pokulok (Washington)

2004 - Devan Dubnyk (Edmonton) All-Star

2003 - Brent Seabrook (Chicago) All-Star

2002 - Chris Higgins (Montreal)

2001 - Chuck Kobasew (Calgary)

2000 - Vaclav Nedorost (Colarado)

1999 - Jeff Jillson (San Jose)

1998 - Patrick DesRochers (Phoenix)

1997 - Michel Riesen (Edmonton)

1996 - Marty Reasoner (St. Louis)

1995 - Jay McKee (Buffalo) (rights)

1994 - Ethan Moreau (Chicago)

1993 - Adam Deadmarsh (Quebec) - All Star

1992 - Sergei Gonchar (Washington) - All Star

Interesting word.

I remember when a “mid 1st pick” was more than likely to be Girgensons.

Yet now you’re surprised at what he is, based on his draft status?

It doesn't make me want to trade good players for mid-firsts, that's for sure.

Hes on the wrong half of a somewhat mediocre crop

But your point is those mid-firsts should and could become good players, who are also young and cheap.

My point is that he's disappointing, even by the standards of a group that looks like it produced no No. 1Cs or 1Ds (Depending on where McCavoy lands, or what you think of Wennberg). He's underperformed a group that has some decent, useful players, but hasn't matched those modest expectations.

He's undeperformed against his draft comparables who aren't that good.

I'm gonna let it go. No one wants to read me droning on about him anymore

I get it. And I’m not totally against what you are saying about him.

I just think we all realize he is what he is. A disappointment. But I think he’s still an NHL forward.

Difference between him and Sam, is Sam was the first big draft peice of the rebuild. He’s a good player, and no one should be complaining about his play the last 40 games

It's funny you say that about Brodeur because last night in between episodes of DVRed Into the Badlands NHL Network had their Top Goalies of all time and they had Brodeur as #1 with Hasek at #2, which I thought was kinda BS. Apparently they don't think too highly of Carey Price either given his place on the list which was a lot later then most would think.

Also, they showed this SWEET save by Hasek where he was lying on his belly in the crease and he kicked his back legs up and stopped the puck mid air right before crossing the line with his skate blade. Man that Guy was GOOD. Can't believe I forgot about that one.

I think Marty was more a system goalie due to their style and 2 hall of fame defenders helping him out crunch time

I still have him as the third best goalie I have ever seen in their prime
