I'm very confused by the rumours regarding the Hurricanes. They're trying to unload Skinner AND Faulk? What are they trying to get in return? Picks? I have no idea what that team is up to.

I just know that Tanner picked them to win the East or something ridiculous like that before last season. Lol Gave me a good laugh. And he also had the Leafs winning the cup.

Tanner doesn't actually watch hockey, haven't you noticed that by now?

The Canes' seem to want to trade Faulk since several D men have been added. I guess the right return is the snag. The same with Skinner, since he's a 25-30 goal scorer, management won't give him way for nothing. There has been speculation that a futures package is the ask for Skinner. Something like a 1st, and a prospect. My hunch is unless they trade him for a comparable player production wise, they hold onto him until the trade deadline and re-evaluate then.

Dallas doesn't need Skinner. What makes you think they want Skinner?

It was possible until Tanner said so. Guy said Edmonton would make the playoffs for 9 straight years, cried about the Hall trade and said Oilers wouldnt make the playoffs and that was they year they made it

Skinner needs Dallas. It's a reverse ultimatum double sided bluff.

In the words of an MSNBC commentator recently..... “This is probably not true, but maybe it is.” -yes I actually heard that-

Ottawa just needs to hold onto Karlsson and try to re-sign him. If not, wait until the trade deadline next season and maybe get a better deal from an eager team.

Depends. Its in Dorion's best interest to trade via TDL. If Col gets #1 pick next season, he is done. However what is best for the team would be to either re-sign which from what I hear is unlikely or trade him for a haul. Karlsson can bring in a huge return if the GM is smart. If Sakic could get what he got for Duchene, he can get that return for EK

Sources say Machado to Dodgers and Leonard to Raptors too.

Dreger said the Blues are in on Skinner. They’d have to take Steen to make the cap work, so per Army’s track record, there would probably be a pick thrown in to make that happen. I assume they’d also want a pseudo-NHL winger (Sanford, Jaskin, Fabbri?) and a serious defenseman, who I’m not sure the Blues are willing to give up, unless they want Walman (not sure I want to lose him either)? Skinner would certainly boost the speed up front though.

Then why trade him? There’s no point in swapping him for another winger. They won’t get someone who’s more productive for him.

I agree, I think the reason he has not moved yet is they are not happy with the offers and are hoping someone will eventually pony up. I know it’s possible they would want to re-sign EK, but I feel like it should have happened already. I would think if the Sens wanted to keep him and he wanted to stay, the deal would have been done already. I hope they both get what they want in the end. Karlsson is a great player and The NHL is better when the Canadien teams are susccessful IMO.

Well, asking price for Skinner and Faulk was Schmaltz or Saad and a 1st so... I dunno. I'm thinking they're looking for futures.

They're considering trading these guys because the team hasn't made the playoffs in forever and they've both been around for almost all of that.

Plus Skinner is going to need another contract soon that's probably going to be higher than he's actually worth.
