Man just think of how many jerseys they can sell now! Everyone in Toronto had Lowry or Derozan already. Now you have to buy Leonard.
- Aaron_85

He's only here for one year unless the team and city can convince him to stay. For this season though - not a bad time to get a player looking to get a big fat contract - if anything motivates him the next deal should.

We hope to Paul George him as they did in OKC. But the idea of going to LA with Lebron might be too much.

Do you even read what you type as you type it? San Antonio wanted a ton because they thought they had LA by the balls. LA didn’t bite. We got a good return for derozan all things considered but we have little likelihood of hanging onto him beyond this season. When you look to trade Leonard to LA you’re not trading him as a rental you’re trading the value of him signing that extension with LA. Kawhi Leonard on a long term contract playing with lebron is worth a lot (but maybe not quite what San Antonio was asking for)

What about the above is confusing to you?

Except, from what I've seen. Derozan looked like he loved playing for the Raptors. Probably would have been more odds of him wanting to stay long term than the new guy.

Looks like he was drinking big beers...but still, holy (frank).

Other interesting findings pointed to the fact that of the 10 most expensive teams to buy beer from, half are Canadian, and 4 of which are Original Six teams. The Colorado Avalanche reported the lowest upfront price at $7US for 16 ounces, and the Maple Leafs rank the highest upfront price at $17.50C for 28 ounces.

I feel like at a certain point, price gouging laws need to come into play here/

Well.
Not really.
Facts are the raps offered the better package. Hence, why he was traded here.
Thats what i said.

But thanks

Oh no i agree.
I simply meant, he could opt out of the spurs.
Also, if toronto is going to rebuild next year no matter what...would Droz have wanted to stay.
Masai is going all in for 1 year.

You know we all complain about stadium prices for beer in particular. There's a real simple solution to this. Don't buy the beer.

I do remember hearing recently, I think the falcons in the NFL, have reasonable prices in their stadium and they sold even more concessions than with a higher price! They made more money by being cheaper.

For sure, I’m not disagreeing with that at all. Derozan was worth a lot to San Antonio, but that doesn’t mean that a lesser version of what was asked of LA by San Antonio, may not be worth more to Toronto than one year of Leonard. It’s a three way trade in essence

You saying Toronto trading Leonard to LA would be unconditionally a bad deal for Toronto just because they couldn’t work a deal out with San Antonio, doesn’t make sense necessarily

Sure why not? As fans we were told "oh we can't win cause of Lebron" well now he's in the West and this year you started hearing "Well the celtics..." so same story. He had to go all in this time.

Yeah, I was WAY off base there as well. Had my head completely up my ass.
All the "Leaf bed linen" comments were to deflect how wrong I actually was.

For that, I apologize as well.

If i said that sure. But i didnt.
All i said is if the raps trade kawhi to LA and receive a "middle ground" (your words) package worse than what they traded to get kawhi.
Then they lose.

Bananas.
