Essentially what they are doing is going for the NBA finals, and seeing if they can convince him to stay. If they cant, they rebuild, which they were going to do for sure the year after anyhow. It's insanely hard to get elite talent in the NBA which is the only way to win a championship, they are going for it. I dont blame Masai at all
