He scores way more than Gardiner and he controls a game far better, especially with Matthews, Tavares and Marner to pass to. Karlsson usually creates more offense than he gives up. Playing defense is important but the way Karlsson drives the play, he's a massive upgrade over Gardiner.

If Nylander signs for 6.0 I will be stunned. Back to back sixty point seasons on his entry level deal. Two year bridge at 5.0mil maybe. But eventually he'll get paid. Probably by another team. There is only so much candy to go around. Lets just hope Tavares is still a ppg guy in years five, six and seven. That is a lot of jack for a guy scoring at .75 per game. Does anyone really believe he's going to increase his point totals as he ages? All of a sudden 7.5 for Nylander on a long term deal isn't so bad
