It was pretty awkward to see a draft full of defenseman, but at the end of the day they take longer to develop. 3-4 years down the line we might be thinking “good thing we have a lot of d-men ready to make the jump” becuase we will be spending close to the cap regarding Mitts, Dahlin, Eichel, Reinhart (possibly). We can go forward heavy the next few drafts now.

It was a good move now next year they can take a forward or two and another defenseman if someone is there, we can take best player, not reach for crap.

So Scheifele being close in points is a good comparison, but Stafford and Reinhart having almost identical goal scoring rates through the same amount of time is meaningless?

And I know you didn’t compare him to Schefiele but this is getting confusing

Sure I'll give you that him at 21/22 and Stafford at 26 played the same amount of NHL games and had similar point production for the NHL. I don't know what you are personally trying to say, but for the record, Scheifele and Sam scoring at the same pace before means nothing to me other then don't write off guys who climb steady because if they do break, you got the egg on the face. But forget about Scheifele, the child called him Stafford 2.0, and you semi agreed? I just want to point out that they had the same production rate and points totals per season when one was 21/22 and the other was 26. That has to account fur something to somebody. Right?

Now that it's set in, you start to realize that 1 D is ready this year, 1 is probably 2+ years away, and the others 3+. Along with Borgen, Pilut, and Hickey, it offsets the neglect of the last few years. There's decent balance in the system now, aside from goalie.

probably won’t see the D for a long time agreed but with them not being in the CHL they will probably be in the system in a year or 2 (AHL )
