But a scout should know how valuable a pick is yet he just tossed it away

He had a wet dream and (frank)ed it up with his drafting

Ya'll are COMPLETELY sleeping on Olofsson and Pu right now. Even Nylander too.I'd bet a nut that at least 2 of the 3 of them start the season in Buffalo.
- JVince11

I've posted those before. Ive done like 312 of these things. If you put Olofsson and Pu (which, great call, I've been saying he's a dark horse as well) in the lineup, at least 10 people go ZOMG THEY'RE NEVER GONNA PLAY THIS YEAR. So I thought I'd do a tamer one.

If Olofsson made it, I'd be pumped. Nylander will never have a better opportunity

I think I know where you are coming from with respect to holding teams accountable for their stupidity in making long-term commitments...and I don't disagree with you

But when player performance is different because they are no longer motivated by the fact the contract is guaranteed...then something needs to be done there.

- IonSabres

There's an easy fix; no long term deals.

What is the argument exactly? I’m confused.

So if Reinhart doesn’t put up a PPG soon like Schiefele are we moving the goalposts again?

Reinhart is a good player. It ends there until he proves otherwise

I hope he does

- sbroads24

Actually the only one who keeps moving the goalposts in almost every post is.. you guessed it, the child. I mean seriously, Murray made his picks as a GM not a scout, Skunk is a good player (but when you call him Stafford 2.0, you aren't saying he's a good player), and we need more scoring, but trade for Max (frank)ing Domi. Sam's climb is a steady one, I didn't compare him to Schiefele, but the point was they were close in points for their age and it would be silly to give up on Sam now like it would be silly to give up on Schiefele then. The child wants Sam to sign for 2 years at 3.5M and That. Isn't. Going. To. Happen. That's what this who discussion has been about.

Complete opposite, that's why I disagree with your bottom 3 or 5.

Now that Kim's the president, its nothing but winning.

Out of one side of your mouth, Nylander is the second coming. Out of the other side of your mouth, Murray sucked so hard the only thing he couldn't (frank) up was Jack ECHL. Pick. A. (frank)ing. Side. and stick to it.

And why's that? At this point the team desperately needed defenseman and Sergachev went at 9, one spot later. So tell me again, why was it obviously Nylander? O yeah, fits your narrative.

Fair...

I think Pu has the best chance... I could see him being an out of no where 15-20 goal guy this year. he was last cut at the end of camp last year.

Olofsson and Nylander I think will depend on their chemistry. If they find good chemistry with a center or line in preseason/camp then they have a chance to stick around. If it looks like they go to lines 3 or 4.. just send them to RO-CHA-CHA to be top line guys there with Tage.

But, AGAIN, he was the GM, not a scout. Given an amateur scout's job, where he has ZERO say in trades, he's fine, and has proven that he can do a good job.

Stafford didn't hit 50 points until his 5th season as a Sabre. He was 26. Skunk got his at 22. Your move tool.

You could say the same thing about Reinhart. Anyone could have made that pick. 90% of mock drafts had Reinhart there.

You can't have it both ways.

Very similar, but sam hasn't had a 31 goal season or even a 26 goal season.

Drew actually dropped the gloves stuck up for himself and his teammates.

Good post. I can get behind this sort of thing when you don't use insane hyperbole to try and prove a point.
