I think Mr. Shero believes otherwise.

moving on... call it a guess, but I think Bastian and McLeod sees some time with the club, and perhaps playing on a line with Zacha. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a lot of chemistry there.

I say this because I know they're all hard forecheckers.

I think we would all LOVE if Mc, bast, Anderson, Speers all force themselves into the lineup. Before this offseason I was so hopeful, then with every article, Todd was so negative with all our youth no I feel like we have no one. Beginning if last season it felt like we were stacked with young talent.

Which top pairing left-handed defensemen is available on the market now? Would the cost be Wood or Bratt, a first-rounder, and an A-level prospect such as Blake Spears?

This is such a dumb way to look at it. It's not about being positive or negative, it's about what's true.

Speers is barely a B level prospect at this point. And the the only LHD of significance I've heard anything about is Klefbom. That's a risk though because he had that shoulder injury and stupidly played through it for most of the year. Who knows how he'll recover or how long it'll take him to get back to full strength.

Todd's a voice, and several voices chime in. He tries his best as everyone else does. I don't know that he's shined that negative a light on the prospects.

I think, though, that NJ has players coming up that can fulfill a role. A lot of people around are sniffing out for all-stars, and NJ probably doesn't have much potential for that in the cupboards (Smith and Sissons stick out, maybe Seney can turn into another Gaudreau or St.Louis type - and they're still 2 or 3 years out from that if they'll ever hit that ceiling), but I see a lot of guys who can play an NHL game which will give them the depth necessary to allow what current star core players they have now to win games for them without having liabilities on their team that cost them games.

I meant Todd is just the bearer of bad news. He's just relaying the stats that the prospects provide. I like Todd. Before last season started we were all gungho how deep we were with all this talent, and as the season went on, it seemed like all the prospects were failing to deliver from Blackwood to Mcleod.

Obviously they can turn it around, plenty of time for that. But I dont know how growth works in young players, like when do they stop growing and regressing 'if it wasnt meant to be' kinda thing.

What makes one 3rd rounder a star and another a dud. The training? The player just realizing his body and hands? Coaches? Like can you turn anyone into a great player with the right recipe?

Offer Nurse a 4M AAV contract. If he accepts, the cash strapped oilers have to find money, or let him go for the cost of a 2nd rd pick

They should trade for Jets' Morrissey.
