I do think Trouba is a bit overrated. I wouldn't want to pay him $7 million a year.
But, I also think that we need to start looking at these deals from the perspective of % versus the cap, because with the cap going up so much in the last few years, $7 million is effective what $5 million was a few years ago (I am not doing the precise math here). |

Who the hell knows. It seems like they cater to about 25% of the teams that don't want to spend the money, while everyone else immediately tries to find away to circumvent the CBA (whatever they end up negotiating).
I think the most stark example is how most clubs don't even bother to exercise the leverage they have over RFAs anymore. |
