I'll let you in on a secret. The people that make a prediction every single day of the year, don't ever make it into the book. They are bound to flip flop another 50 times before the season ever starts or even when the season is going on. |

If he ran a 50/50 split with Reimer they have both put up respectable numbers the last couple years. I'm also looking at the roster in front of them and I think they have enough talent to stay out of the basement.
As a side note, I just saw on their capfriendly page that they signed Matheson to an 8 year contract last year |

I asked Carol a couple years ago whether there was a difference in the 3F2D vs 4F1D.

How exactly are they worse? - manvanfan
He said the exact same thing last season and even with all those injuries the Canucks moved up a few spots.
I don't know what the impact of losing the Sedins will be. I think at worse the team finishes in the same 3-6 from bottom range myself. This is their biggest transition season since the West Coast Express was dismantled and the Sedins became the transition. There will be growing pains.
Next season(2019) I think the team will turn some heads... Horvat in his prime and the Captain. Boeser in his 3rd season and top 3 sniper in the league. EP will have more of a mans body in his sophomore season... same as Hughes and will be transitioned into the roster and comfortable. Woo is making the team in 2019 I think... OJ will be settled in... there will be noticeable improvement at that point. This season is just a big question mark. I'm prepared for last but Horvat, Boeser and EP might have something to say about that. |

Nice to see that there's actual evidence this works. Even better for the Canucks since they have almost no Dmen who can play the PP well |

Don't make me slap you with a pom pom!
Worst 5v5 players gone.
Bottom 6 players are better.
Younger players should make improvements. Including goaltending.
Team will stay healthier this year.
Only team last year without a shoot out win!
And if none of this works out. They get another high draft pick - manvanfan

You're crazy, this team is worse than last years team!! They finish bottom five easily. - LeftCoaster
lol I'd make you an Avatar bet but I'm never changing mine so...
Still not a great team yes some growing pains but I can see a 21-25 finish in the books. Nothing stellar but improvements. I actually think we are a touch better without the Sedins. This team is traditionally unhealthy so you might be bang -on but I can see a little turn around here if we can maintain a decent lineup. We'll see

I don't understand that either. They're going to be in playoff contention again imo.
You should write down that Lefty thinks the Canucks will be 30th overall at the end of next year. - NorthNuck
That does not need to be written down every season.

😳 - Redmile247
lol...Flames might make the PO's but will most likely be another 1st RD exit. James Neal is a stud acquisition but Lindholm can disappear for half season at a time and Hanafin is unproven. I think you guys are gonna regret moving Ferland and Hamilton considering the seasons they just had IMO. |

Hard to find healthier players than the Sedins in the league so losing them won't make the team healthier thats for sure. Just hope some of the kids stay healthy no bad Boeser luck. Tanev is a 25 game write off... that is a given....

Canucks made a very small stride from D on the PP last season. 5 more points then previous years. |

Couldn't that just be written off as Edler returning to form?
Obviously the situation will be very different if Hughes makes the team or if Green changes up who he's putting out there |

Addition by subtraction with Sedins gone. But they still suck. Will finish 27th |

Also a key issue. On paper yeas we have not replaced the Sedins points with Beagle Roussel and Schaller but there are other intangibles at play. EP and Boeser should have much to say about the rest of those lost points. Horvat as well. Our 5/5 play has improved massively without the Sedins here...it's going to help.
I'll say Tanev is out for 4-6 weeks at the 15 game mark... |

He might...but that's going to be a pretty potent PP with Johnny Monny Lindholm Neal and Gio/Brodie. Neal just seems to be pretty consistent no matter where he plays. |
