I didn't even know that was Nick Jonas. He's fine though. Jack Black is funny, and the rock is surprisingly charismatic. I'm not saying it's a terrific movie, but it's enjoyable

I'm just saying, let's not lump Pommer in with Moulson. He's an effective player, albeit an overpaid one
- jcragcrumple

I didn’t like his decline last year was very noticeable And at times I was thinking is this the year he’s going to retire

Moulson had that 14 g year and looked like a player That was done in the NHL the next year

I fear it might happen to Pominville this year

I could see that
At least done as a top9 player
He could probably be a pretty decent 4th liner for a few years
*if he’d accept that role

Moulson potted most of those 14 on the PP. Pommer had 11 even strength goals last year. Your fears are misplaced imo. He'll continue to be a solid bottom 6 guy. If he's with Erod and Berglund, they should be very effective

I know the Sabres have loyalty towards him but they had to see what we saw last year with his decline as the year went on

I hate to say it but I wish they would find a replacement and move on from him

Interesting roster projection, for anyone who likes sean tierney's work.

Thanks for thdd web address.

I think he is smoking something regarding Sabres lineup...
Beaulieu and Hunwick as 3rd pairing? Where is McCabe & Nelson

Baptiste ERod Thompson as 4th line, while
Girgenson, Sobotka Pommer as 3rd...gotta at least flip those lines...

Are we tanking again? Lol.

He had 7 goals from Feb 28- til the end of the year. He went on a huge dry spell in the middle

Interesting, thanks

I think Rodrigues will get a shot in the top9,
probably over Girgs

And i think McCabe is ahead of Beaulieu
Maybe Guhle starts in Rochester & comes up if Hunwick doesn’t play well...
or maybe Guhle just looks so good at Camp he’s in the lineup night 1

Seems pretty close though,
as of now

- jdfitz77

I'm still looking through his GAR projections and trying to figure out his methodology, but it's interesting. It's a solid defensive third line, which they will clearly need.

Don't know enough to defend his methodology, but I know a lot of his charts are based on GAR. Can only guess that he projects Bealieu and Hunwick higher than McCabe and Nelson, though I really don't know why.

I'll defend his third line though. That line will probably see 65% dzone starts. Can't have Erod and Baptiste doing that. Can't see Thompson on a 4th line, though maybe his projections simply place him there.

Pommer is here this year, at least to start
If he plays well enough, we probably move him at the deadline
If he doesn’t do well, one of the kids will likely pass him

Either way,
I think this is Pominville’s last season with Buffalo

Guhle might get the best return bc he’s still an “up & coming” prospect who’s thought highly of

After that...
Scandella has the better resume than McCabe
So even though he has the bigger salary,
I think Scandella would fetch us more in a trade
A team who’s close to the Cap would probably prefer McCabe though

*i hope we extend McCabe BEFORE this season starts
His price tag is only gonna go up

- jdfitz77

It’ll be interesting to see how the lines are made up & deployed this season

Will Berglund be LW2 or 3C?
Once that’s decided, then we can start to slot in the rest of the bottom6

Sure. He's Derek Grant with a better draft pedigree. Totally replaceable

That’s true too
Wish we’d have traded him when he was still worth something

I always thought he topped out as a defensive 3C

What would a McCabe extension look like right now? 3 years @ 2M? Would McCabe take it? What does JB budget toward his third pair, when the budget gets tight? I don't know where it goes, but I see them holding til after the season.

So if 90% of the league disappeared off the face of the Earth, you wouldn't notice a drop off with the replacements?

That sounds about right
Still reasonable for 3rd pair
But if he becomes a solid 2nd pair,
then it’s a bargain

I suppose waiting till the end of the season isn’t a big deal though either
