Hockeybuzz has a long and proud history of clickbate bloggers. Tanner is just one of many. Any chimp can produce exaggerated opinion.

It’s true insight that’s difficult to produce. Especially on a regular basis.

Not only are more rational when back on the island, you are more pompous as well.

if I let the truth out that about the only thing I'm well adept at is systems, having played for some really good coaches, people might lose respect for me.

It's bizarre as he's actually a blogger that kinda trolls himself and others.

I think it was last year he made that argument that OEL was 'overall' a much better player than Tavares and that was pretty much it for me...now his stuff is mostly a comedy show...

Leipsic is a bit older and has probably less skill but more heart. Leipsic played with Horvat and scored at a much higher pace then Goldy did playing with Bo.

Leipsic might turn into the next Jonathan Marschessault. That would be awesome!

Lippy can pass the puck well. Has good instincts... pushes the envelope sometimes and gets burned but thats how you up your skills.

I bet Goldobin wears a Speedo.
- Marwood

I have a Speedo story. I was camping by myself fishing on a lake where no one goes and in the middle of the night a truck pull up and parks beside me. In the morning it's 3 Slovakian dudes setting up in my camp. This is a one person spot. They told me they got lost. I look around.... one of them is squatting poopting right in camp. They go on and on how lucky I am because back home the woods are private and public lands are dirty. Then they all get in Speedos and swim... I'm disgusted. Go fishing.... come back and they are gone and there is no less than 5 piles of poop and toilet paper IN camp. Still, the Speedos were the part that offended me the most.

I agree that your scenario is a bit dramatic, but short answer, yes I believe Benning will try to trade Gagner and Eriksson or Hutton or Stecher...absolutely believe that.

I actually like Sutter and think as of this season he fits well, but if he is outplayed then yes he will also go on the market.

Now the real question is who determines if the vets are outplayed....Green, Lefty, you?

Carol was on to something with Lipstick's pace of points...if he gets the TOI he could be a 40-50 point guy. Game is changing and his speed will help huge.

In a few years when fighting and hitting are actually removed from the game we might have a shot!!

Don’t see that as helping Hughes.
Nothing to gain contract wise.
Whats to learn in NCAA vs AHL or NHL?

- Nighthawk

The best people have been able to come up with is "more time in the weight room". Needed but really? He'll grow if he's going to grow. AHL a great step for him and he'd get a taste of NHL probably at some point and possibly make the team for good later in the season or after TDL... or not.

I'm worried about forcing him to college. He wont like that. He'll be 2 seasons or half way to walking by the end of this season if he goes back. He feels he's ready for *pro* and that is backed up by playing with men for the last year. I feel he's ready for the AHL at least....

To be fair, it probably won't be the Canucks that force him back to college, his parents are involved and I know for a fact they'd be wanting him to finish college and get his degree in case he gets a career-ending injury and can't play anymore. I would hope JB is saying to Q.Hughes, "Quinn, look, sign with us now and you will play in the NHL by the end of the season if all goes well, if not sooner, depending on how you look in preseason. But you will definitely be playing in the AHL with a clear path to the big club."

He's predicting Matthews scores 65 this year with Tavares and him on the same team
- LeftCoaster

Typical Leafs media/fans. Matthews was generational half way into his rookie season. The first half they regretted not taking Laine. Now they have 2 generational players... because according to them.... to be generational, you either play for Toronto,,, or born in Ont. The league is full of generational players apparently. Many of the non generational players have had better careers... but lets not bring that up.

You are right. Parental influence is something that hasnt crossed my mind and it should. He comes across so mature and confident that it is an easy oversight.

I think, and I've got no evidence other than a hunch, if given the opportunity with some offensive players, and a bit of patience by Greener, Leipsic can produce some offensive numbers. Plus he quick'ish.

Totally agree. Fighting will be gone for good (or wittled down to nothing) and with the concussion scare hitting could also be phased out where we are all watching WHC hockey on the big surface with no contact...the signs are all there that it's coming.

Anybody read Scott Rosenhek stuff from thecanuckway?

More arrogance then everybody in this room combined. Its either "i told you so" "no one believed me" "i wouldnt do it that way" "it should be done this way".
Its pretty sad.
