Seeing as he he only had 2 years in the AHL. Year 1 where he should of be in the OHL and year 2 where he was injured for the most of the year and ended up with 18 points in the last 23 that’s ECHL quality

He had plenty of time to come back from injury. He has like 10 professional goals. If you look at post draft year AHL totals from teenagers for points per game you’d have to scroll down 30 names before you see Nylander.

He played 17 games as a Center, 3C to be exact.
During that span, produced 5 points 2G 3A...PPG = 0.294

The next 27 games he produced 8 points; 5G 3A...PPG = .296
Many of the games were with Jack and ROR...high QoTm

Reinhart sucked of his own volition in the first half of the season.

I think it is time to catagorize the he played center line as an excuse pure and simple.

I must have really like this post, lol!

2 years $4.25M per.
Prove it Sam....you were supposed to do that the full year last season...you failed to do so.
Here's another chance....we would love to pay you big money......based on consisttent big production.

I'm his biggest critic, very vocal about under-performance.

All the excuses go away this season...no more given.
Let's see what he does.

I hope he proves me way, way wrong.

In fairness, very few play in the AHL in their first post-draft year.

Some guys just are busts. Nhl talent is picked at such a young age.
He has an uphill battle

For sure on the age thingy.
What's most disconcerting is his production compared to his brother's production.

Why is it the Sabres seem to consistently get the lesser brother?
Never draft a brother again, never.

I realize you really like nylander.

You have posted 1,000's of times , how he's your guy and how great he is.

I'm not seeing it or really anything.
He is young, so hopefully he plans out

Lmao yeah everyone would be happy

But you still don’t understand why people are upset when he’s the first forward taken and the 6th best player

You would think differently if it was jack

- gerbe75pts

He was never, ever touted to be a player of Jack's talent and skill level. Why make that silly comparison?

Sometimes it takes players a tad longer to find their game at the NHL level, Rhino is getting close he had a good first year, took a step back in year 2, struggled mightily in the first half of last year and then hopefully the light went on. let's not forget that in his last World Juniors he out played McJesus,Eichel and just about everybody there, so the kid knows how to play the game, now we are looking for a lot more consistency. It would great if Gerbe would indicate where he gets his information when he accuses players of using drugs and or partying too much. I don't like heresay accusations against people.

Good post,

Have you seen enough to give him 8 years like homie suggested?

Sounds like you feel like he's inconsistent
