8 years 5 per

I would be all over that

- homiedclown

I just would want to see a little more if I was sabres management.

Statistically speaking sam has put up good numbers as a young pro.

I respect your opinion, but I seriously doubt that jbotts saw enough to lock him down for the max length.

Not with 3 guys on the team that have clearly higher potential then sam already. (And younger)

Its 2 or 3 years, sam has zero leverage

his brother sucked

here is 40 mil

what would you do?

take the money

- homiedclown

If Sam's worth 40 million, why didn't they even want to talk to him about an extension last year?

And what changed? Was sam really that much better last season? Pretty up and down

Nothing beats In n out Burger

That has to be the best hamburger in the world sorry

- gerbe75pts

You would list a chain burger as the best place to get a Burger. You should try McDonald's, I heard they are popular.

Baptiste and O'Regan signed their QO, both got 1 year contracts.

3 RFA's to go- Reinhart, Bailey and Smith. They have till 5:00 today if they want to sign their QO.

I would think both Bailey and Smith will sign their QO today. Reinhart should get a bridge deal, 2 years @ 3.5 imo.

25 goal scorers do not grow on trees, less then 70 last season

and he was tied with jack for team lead, not 12 goals behind jack last season

if you are averaging over 20 goals for your first 3 seasons in the nhl, you are getting 4 mil at least in a bridge

probably closer to 5

Ha ! After reading my post, I was thinking "jeez, I sound like the owner or a worker for the place". Nope, it was so damn good that as soon as I got home, I typed all of that. Like many of us here, i'm just a food lover. A few weeks ago in here, I asked everyone for BBQ in/near Cheektowaga (since my favorite restaurant, Kentucky Gregs closed). Still looking for that, by the way ! Someone suggested the place in Lewiston ... gotta try that, but again, i'm looking for BBQ in the Cheektowaga area, 'cuz i'm old and lazy. Smokin' Little Diner in Depew wasn't too bad, but they don't have brisket on their regular menu, just specials.

Suzie Q's near the Gm plant in Tonawanda, You have to get there early because once whatever they cooked for the day is gone, it's gone. Very delicious.

my guess is if he puts 2 solid seasons on a bridge deal, say 65 to 70 points in each season

he will be in johnny hockey's ball park

6.75 per

Based on how much Kane and Couture got, it would be $7M minimum.

If he gets 2 years and lights it up, he'll get a big pay day. Not now.

Also, next time your at Stack Burger, you need to try the Deep Fried Peanut Butter Sandwich (which is basically a Smuckers Uncrustable) covered in a Loganberry drizzle and served with a Whipped Grape Mayo. Unbelievable!!

This.
People scoff at the 1st half of the season last year as an anomolly....points wise it sure as hell was.
The issue is what really caused that? Sure playing center with duds had an impact, no denying it...but he didn't play center the entire 1st half, and he continued to outplay Larsson as most useless player.

Something else was there.
Gerbe's isn't shy about pointing to a coke issue.
IF true, how can JBotts be sure that Sam is on the proper path long-term?
Can't.
Until NHL contracts are not guaranteed, the risk to signing long-term is loo high.

Give him a choice...
8 years at $3.75m per
2 years at $4.25m per.
Let him bet on himself and be motivated to put a lot of distance between the contract renewal payday and The Issue....kinda incentive based.

I guess 269 gp and 207 points is somehow comparable too. (LEON'S CAREER NHL NUMBERS)

249 gp and 140 points ( SAM'S CAREER NHL NUMBERS)

Pick up the mic and put in back where it belongs.

It's not even close

Just imagine if any of the other current Sabres puts up 65-70 points a season

Why is Sam any different?

He brings ZERO intangibles.

Not tough
Doesn't hit
Not fast
Weak and refuses to put on muscle
Part of the losing culture

Sabres are not giving this turd more then 3 years.

He has no leverage either[/img]
