Oh okay I misunderstood you. I don't wanna see Coots taken out of the 1c role but I am okay with him moving to the second pp unit because that unit needs all the help that it can get. However I feel like the team thinks JVR can replace simmer or Patrick on the top unit. Honestly I think it should be G, Jake, Ghost, jvr, nopa on the first unit and TK, coots, simmer, provy, Sanheim on the second unit

Simmonds might be the best net front forward on the PP in the entire NHL. He belongs on the top unit in my opinion.

I know you are lol. While I love him and would love to see him back, I think he will command too much term and money and we have some kids knocking on the door. Also gotta see how he plays this season

I don't disagree but the unit hummed along just fine with NoPa there. If simmer is fully healthy tho he deserves that spot until proven otherwise but the question on his health remains

We don't really have a guy like him but I don't think that's the type of player you offer sheet. I'd have to see what the current contract numbers/pick compensation is.

Ok so after some thought I rescind my coots for subban thought. Only because coots is 25 and subban 29. I just don’t see cup winner with g jake Wayne as nucleus. In thinking I’m 3 years we start our true cup window.

Everyone knows that I’m pretty harsh in my criticism of Ron Hextall and Dave Hakstol but the Flyers have my full support in a nucleus that includes Claude Giroux, Jake Voracek, Wayne Simmonds, Sean Couturier, James van Riemsdyk, Ivan Provorov, Shayne Gostisbehere, Travis Konecny and Travis Sanheim. The problem is that the drop off behind them is titanic. The bottom six at forward, the bottom pairs on defense is gaping.

Agree 100%. Hextall is just starting to build this team. Yeah you want improvement with the team year to year but not at expense of the kids progress. In a perfect world our top talent rises faster than normal and g and jake still young enough to excel with them. Who knows
