We are hoping to sign Stecher long term because he gets awarded a 10 year contract by the arbitrator

I thought he was going to get awarded a 8 year bridge contract?

Need to bolster our D a bit before we submit Demko to the NHL. Although I do think Demko will be up here full time after TDL.
- LordHumungous

I am not as concerned about whether our D gets upgraded, moreso, our team defense. Our forwards last season, were not very good at positional play in defensive zone.
If Demko has a good camp, I see no reason why he shouldn't be on the team, if he outperforms 1 or both of our backup goalies.

I do agree with this but we have to be cautious. To me a lot of it stems on whether Juolevi and Hughes could steal a spot this season. If we are stuck with Guddy-Edler-Tanev-MDZ as our top 4 we may want to leave Demko away from that lol

I haven’t had a chance to take notice. I’m still trying to figure out how the world got into the mess it’s in today.

Looking at American foreign policy after the 2nd world war. The US really took advantage. The world had no option but to capitulate to the Americans desire to be world police. See the agreement “destroyers for bases” as just one example.

Their definition of winning is really (frank)ed up. They deserve all the problems they are faced with today. Self generated as far as I’m concerned.

Now I’m off to google to search “right sector”.

It’s enough to make you go mad.

- bloatedmosquito

Right Sector is in Canada now but they would be in jail if they turned armed militia.

Just finished that same series probably the best Vietnam war Doc. made...outstanding.

McNamara knew that war was unwinnable in 1965 but still...

McNamara, Kennedy, LBJ, Nixon, everyone knew it was a lost cause but American idealism facilitated the death of tens of thousands of American lives. Unforgivable.

I've been reading some of the declassified material that came out of the millions of documents on JFK and the CIA. Some interesting stuff not related to that conspiracy but pretty huge none the less. Here's just how much of a monster the CIA is. Two things that were discussed to start a war with the Soviets in the 1960's were to murder Cuban immigrants in America and frame the Communists. The other was building a mock soviet bomber and bombing a civilian population. This is what's on the table with these monsters... murder in the USA and bombing cities all in false flags. And people roll their eyes at the suggestions of what the CIA gets up to.

If these things don't happen, people aren't going to sign up or allow a war to happen.

Lots of excitement about the rookies and prospects. Lots of bold statements made by the group on here over the last few months. I think we will have another awful season before we see any benefit (in standings) from our prospect group.

The Blue Jackets have locked up one of their remaining restricted free agents, announcing that defenseman Ryan Murray has accepted his qualifying offer. That means he will make $2.825MM for the 2018-19 season.

I will be glad when we hit the sweet spot of trying to find a spot for one rookie not eight. I realize this was needed now I am looking forward to the next step. I like how it is shaping up Two more bottom 5 finishes to get out 1 C and RHD top 2

Totally understand, but using that same logic, why would you want to expose any rookie to this mess?
Eventually, you have to start bringing in these young players and let them sink or swim.
Provided, of course, they earn the right too be on the team.

The Canucks are not in a big mess. Where? Compared to who? Because of a contract like LE? They are just not good yet but are adding high end kids every season. It is a process is all. A slow and painful one. Where is this cancer team narrative coming from though? Honestly, what kind of a team do people think these kids want? This is a team they can make.... Three vets just dropped out of the top 6... 3 were added to the bottom 6 but there are opportunities everywhere in this line up including D and G. The kids know this team has made room every season for a youngster or two.... I'm sure their agents tell them its a good situation in Van for them.

Well the dog days of summer are upon us, not much to discuss these days other than which young guys might crack the opening day lineup.

We have our highest prospect rating in a long long time...but this is still a lunch bucket team with this roster. Beagle-Roussel-Schaller 'almost' effectively replace the Sedins points but in a much different way. I'll bet we still finish bottom 10 but a bit higher this season. If healthy this team can grind out a few extra wins I think even without the Sedins here. Gonna be a different brand of Hockey.

I think EP is there to replace Hank not Beagle.

I think Roussel Beagle Schaller replace Dorsett Dowd and Gaunce

I don't think they're a mess either, they're just a rebuilding team. I don't think they're particularly managed well but these bad seasons are only going to help them build a quality prospect pool.

I don't think there's a lot of spots open, we'll see, but I personally don't see anything wrong with a kid making the lineup if he makes the team better. You don't wait for your team to get better before you inject youth, you inject youth because your team is poor and they make you better.

Trip down memory lane

I said a few months back this is a make or break year for Gaunce. As always in here it was a heavy debate about a meaningless topic. Booner led the debates other side. I stand by my statement this is a make or break year for him.

I am glad we spent 10 % of our cap hit on the bottom 6 because in years past they sucked. Here is hoping for a better year
