I'm not pumped about this signing. Mcleod is bad. I kinda care about that. But Colton Orr was bad, he actaully defended his teammates. Glass was bad, he defended his teammates. The Rangers were most likely going to be bad with or without Mcleod. The Reason why I hate this signing is Mcleod is a piece of poop. He's shown he wont defend his teammates when needed. He's dogpoop on skates. |

Will u admit AV likely told the whole team in that Nashville game not to retaliate and that’s y the entire team didn’t? |

You dont give up a yr to compete , waiting to win aint a guarentee
gotta go for it every yr
1st yr i can remember ,we arent competetive , we may not have been good
but it wasnt projected the way this team is, they thought they built good ones
but were flawed , now we aint evn building em

Kinda funny, I hear it in almost every rap song, on the train every day, in the streets constantly, yet there is never seems to be any outrage by those who are outraged when others says it ....
To be 10000% clear, I hate the word but its quite hypocritical.
It's so offensive to someone but that only depends on who says it... its laughable. You want change, look in the mirror and stop using it first before you tell others to stop. (Also stop with the.. when I use it it means something different crap)
Also someone using the word doesn't make them a racist.. and idiot? yes, out of touch yes? but you cant discern someone's internal feelings and viewpoints on everything by a word they use. Judge people by their actions (when nobody is looking) and you will find out who they really are.
I just opened Pandoras box, sorry.

Detroit was terrible in the 80's. It allowed them to draft the like of....
Yzerman
Lidstrom
Fedorov
Proburt
Adam Graves
Dallas Drake
Konstantinov
Sillinger
Kozlov
Keith Primeau
Osgood
Lapointe
They used pieces to trade for the likes of Shanahan, Chelios and others to build a dynasty. But they also tanked. So congrats. |

Based on the draft positions of the players mentioned above, the Red Wings didn't have to tank to draft the vast majority of them. Indeed, with the exception of Yzerman, the guys that were drafted highest on the above list were arguably the least consequential to their run.

Fair point. Scouting then was soddy at best. But it doesn't change the fact that Red wings 1978/79-1985/86 the Red Wings won a grand total of one playoff game. I'm not expecting the Rangers to build a dynasty like the Wings., but if they can get as much talent as possible in this rut, go for it. I can wait. |

I am all with you on acquiring young talent and being patient. I, however, want the actual team to try to win whatever games they can next year. Play the young kids with some veterans to show them the way. Don't compromise a rebuild plan to try to win immediately. But, you need to try to win games.

They drafted what most believe is the second best defensemen of all time at 53rd overall. Federov as you said was a steal.
Then how about a couple more -- Zetterberg (210th overall) and Datysuk (171st overall). Lord, they mined the later parts of the draft like no team I can remember, mostly because they were ahead of the time in scouting overseas.

McLeod is garbage, he is the 18th forward, lets be honest, hes not going to affect any younger players development or take away ice time.
The only reason we are talking about him is because nothing else is going on, until the comments section of this blog goes off the rails .... which should be by next page |

Probably. They'll finish anywhere between 9-11 in the east. Mostly because the Habs, Wings, Sabres, Sens, and Isles will all be racing them to the bottom. |

naming a team here & there is fine but the #'s go my way
# of teams that rebuild to win ...# of teams that actually do... & for how long
teams have learned that if we aint top 5 -10 material we can come 2nd 3rd 4th
for less $$ & still act like there competing ...or rebuilding
I still say DOLAN is gone by end of summer ..... |
