Great players...no doubt....Hopefully NYR can add Kravstov to that list - rrentz
Kings did the same thing. Stocked piled the Likes of Quick, Brown, Kopitar, B.Schenn, Simmonds, Toffoli, Pearson, Martinez, Voynov. Then got a elite player in Doughty. They used some of those assets in trades. I get why people don't want it to be done. But it's shown to work. |

It can work, but I don't think it HAS to be done that way... Every instance is different. It really depends on how coaching staff and current team is constructed. In NYR case it doesn't seem to be that way. I think its a combination |

You were “trying” not to be disrespectful??? You start your comment with “Holy F” ... you talk down like everyone should be on same page as you. Agree with your misguided logic. You contradict yourself. Your logic of waiting a year for lesser talent that may or may not be available. You shouldn’t mention Seguin, cause there’s no way in hell hes leaving Dallas. How can you say adding Karlsson is a mistake because we’d still be less talented than other teams in east? Makes absolutely no sense!! You add him because you’re supposed to be trying to narrow that gap. You think passing on him, letting him possibly go to a rival team like Tampa, cuts that gap???? Good luck thinking there’s anyway we will be close to Tampa in next 5 years... and yes, I look at other web sites. I’m well aware of “possible” free agents.. I’m just happy you were able to talk crap like you really want to, using my response to your arrogant comments as an excuse.... and yeah, need to score goals... Karlsson had more points, in a bad season , than our leading scorer

Thing that sucks now, there is no guarantee for that 1st overall. I would love to get Hughes next year, but I will tell you right now, as soon as the season starts I'm rooting for them to win every game. |

We kind of all talk crap once in a while and get heated, and you aren't any different. Slim, me and many others just don't think timing is right at this time to get EK,. We can all talk till we are Blu in the face, but fact remains we aren't going to convince anyone to think differently
Obviously, asking price is very steep because it seems that OTt is taking another run at keeping him because Tampa, Dallas, and others aren't willing to pay the price.. Relax my man |

Obviously I want Hughes. But ill take the likes of Cozens, Kakko, Newhook and others. Just give me more controlable, young talented guys. The Rangers can eitehr keep them or use them in a trade. |

I’m not convinced he even will do extension with any team. It’s definitely why he didn’t go to TB yet
If they somehow can pull off EK and Panarin next summer, that’s quite the haul and the start of a new core |

Oh yah! NYR is one of only a few teams who can have upper hand on FAs, simply because of their location and history. It's definitely an advantage and a reason not to trade away picks for a guy/guys that can be had a year later as FAs |

Karlssons agent was given permission to work out a deal with another team, then they can work on a trade. Who knows how many teams he’s talked to. Teams like Tampa have to figure out cap space. We can all disagree, but as I’ve said, rarely do players like him hit free agency. As far as Panarin, he is meeting tomorrow with agent and GM. Again, doubtful he becomes a free agent |

Yeah, if they are going to do it right, imo, stack up on picks for a couple years and if something special hits free agency go all in. |

Those are the big boys for next year. If all five gone, Panarin would really be in the drivers' seat even more than expected. |

All trades. They drafted the likes of Scheifle, Trouba, Connor, Roslovic, Hellebuyck, Lowry, Ehlers and Morrissey. Jets weren't very good for years. They built a core via the draft. Nashville built through the draft and trades. Winners in the NHL build through the draft. |

Absolutely! Can compete in ice and get good picks too. NYR will never be bad enough and finish in last place. Too much talent already here |

Saying he drowned. Terrible news. - nyrangers9479
Former NHL goalie, Ray Emery drowned while swimming with friends in Hamilton Harbour. It's not known yet whether they were engaged in some sort of swimming competition. But word initially has it that he had simply "never resurfaced", in the event it could have been some sort of swimming under water means, or just some simultaneous occurring, internal health issue causing him to drown if just swimming casually with his friends.
Sad news. R.I.P. Ray. |

Panarin's price will go through the roof if reaching free agency next summer. That's why their GM was either soon to, or I believe has already traveled to Russia to meet with him and discuss once again what it would require to extend him long term. With Panarin wanting to relocate closer to any of the big water areas along the entire U.S. coastline, his price has already risen compared to the last offer he refused. But it has also risen for those other teams that see him being in their picture through any means from now through next summer, no matter the location. |

$$ difference between now and when he's a FA next year will be negligible..but I don't want to give away farm for him and/or EK on top of paying g their new contracts as well
