He ended up playing a regular shift in the NHL next year. He seems to have the skillset where he needs to be on the top 6, especially on this team as it is constructed or he might as well be in the pressbox. Playing him on the 3rd or 4th line does nothing to help your team.

I think it's something they look at in camp right away. If he's not ready, no big deal. I'm still hoping they targeted him because they see him playing next to Eichel long term. He's already got 40+ NHL games, so he might be ready. Sam, Okposo, and Pomminville can be plan B/C/D. None of them excite me on the top line.

you are a big time buzz killer on this site lately

After years of sucking I think lowering our expectations is the best way to go

But yes I’m going to be a buzz kill on Berglund

As far as durability, Sam has played 79, 79, and 82 games the past three seasons. I’d be more worried about Jack holding up in the playoffs.

I'm not talking about injuries. I'm talking about his ability to play in an aggressive, tight checking game and against tough match ups. I have no concerns about Jack.

Can’t wait for him to get The C and turn this trash around in 2019

He’s going to end up the leader of this team... you can tell by the work ethic he has as an 18 yr old...

I was being cheeky, but he does seem more focused and determined than the rest. Let’s hope he keeps clear of the party scene. I think he will, he’ll be living with his mom.

If they go 4 assistants again this season. Eichel, Risto, Okposo, Sam. Can definitely see Dahlin getting the C his sophomore year if he lives up to the hype.

His mom is as big of a party animal as they come. Horking lines in the bathroom at the pink, blackout drunk screaming down Allen.

He seems fine though

He doesn't seem like a leader to me. He can just be a very good player. That's fine. Eichel seems to have a better voice for leadership to me.

We know. Best stretch of his career, when none of the games mattered. Anyone feel confident he'll keep that up?

Jack + Sam on a line has always been fine, but nothing remarkable. Tage has a completely different skill set, and I'm anxious to see it with Jack.

I’m a little concerned about Sheary. He had 4 goals over a 40 game stretch. 30 points total on a stacked defending Cup champion team. 2 assists in 12 playoff games isn’t exactly stellar either.

He has the same G/60 as Reinhart, but played a shade under 14 mins to Reinhart's 17. Sheary is gonna be in the top-6. I'd try him with Eichel and Okposo. He'll be able to finish off their passes He's not gonna rack up the assists, but I think a 22-25g/30a season with Eichel is realistic. His goal total should be good

I'm guessing 55p for him, 57-60 for Okposo and 80-85 for Eichel

I hate guessing at raw points. They won't all be on the PP.

if that is our top line production, we are a bottom 6 team again

I expect a lot better balance in the top-9. We could potentially have 1 or 2 guys on the 3rd line score close to 20 goals (Berglund/Pommer/Erod). It's been years since we've had solid depth scoring

We’re going to be in the bottom 6 regardless

Unless he has an ace up his sleeve to get a stud winger
