In theory, yes, the forwards might be better defensively but Kapanen and Johnsson have never played a full NHL season. They could struggle just to keep up with the grind of a full year.

The defense is still poop. Gardiner with another 100 giveaways, more rookies, more question marks.

Anaheim is the same, San Jose is a bit stronger, LA had 43 ROW wins last year and couldn't score goals but have a healthy Carter and added Kovalchuk so they could be a bit better too.

The Leafs are still not a top 5 team, not yet.

I think Babs will be super strict on Tavares and Marner defensively. Im sure Tavares has areas where he could improve on defence.

Yup, those 3 i would say are equal with TB edging out IF EK goes there.

Except for Washington this year, offensive teams just don't win cups.

Last years Leafs maybe yeah..

But they just added an elite center who's winger is Marner. The offense is vastly improved from last seasons. The defence will be better, but its not as bad as you make it out to be.

I think UG is a proper twat, but I'm with him here. The Leafs real window starts in the 2019-20 season, when Dermott and Lillybust , along with Grundstrom and Bracco/Brooks/Timashov can take a regular shift at the NHL level.

We heard that the Leafs were going for it last year and it was not the case. I don't believe the will go for it this year as well, due to the fact I don't believe we are trading for a top 4 dman. I think we will produce our own.
