No more dead weight. My soul can't take anymore. May the days of Weise and Lehtera folk pass.

Laughton is going to put it together this season. He will be coming in with some confidence, knowing the coach believes in him.

He will be the third line center and he will be good in the role.

Imagine Matt Read and how he played and was used last year.

Now, imagine a player that is marginally better than Matt Read making over 1.5 times Matt Read's 3.5M AAV salary.

For this year and next year.

Also, picture Jori Lehtera. Doing Jori Lehtera stuff. Being "good on the boards" or whatever. He gets 4.7M AAV for being "good on the boards".

So, with this data, tell me why I'd want Ryan Callahan and to help Steve Yzerman out of cap hell?

I do think that if paired with two more skilled players Laughton could be a 40 point guy. Are Lindblom and Simmonds those guys? I think Laughton's best setup would be on a wing with Frost in the middle and Farabee on the other side, hopefully in '19-'20.

How does this contract look when compared to Dale Weise's contract??

Patrick Maroon and the St. Louis Blues are finalizing a 1-year contract in the neighbourhood of $1.75M. Deal is expected to be official later this afternoon.

No thanks. There are a bunch of player I would rather trade then Laughton who I think have similar (this is a vague term on purpose) value. Including and in no particular order: Weal, Raffle, Gudas, Lyon, Stolzar, Nuevy...

Probably has to do with real deal global warming caused by overuse of single use plastic straws.

It’s a big year for Laughton no doubt

I’m not 100% convinced that he is best suited as a C vs winger but C is the need right now

I don't really know much about those other two guys but I'm passing on taking dead weight in Callahan unless a legit blue chip piece is coming back.

Flyers have drafted well and not traded away much of anything since Hextall has taken over. There are starting to be log jams in the developmental depth chart. If we make trades at this point I want quality, not quantity.

Maroon has a kid who lives in his hometown of St Louis who he didn't get to see very often. If he signs an extension with the Blues in January it wouldn't be surprising.

As much as I don't want Callahan, I'll take Raddysh and a 2nd + a cap dump for Laughton and a 3rd, but they'd have to take Weise at 50%, too.

I got a couple thoughts *makes fart noise*

I am assuming you are asking for Katchouk or Raddysh because they played with Frost *fart sound* both of them.

If Flyers are taking Callahan as salary dump then Tampa needs to add to make it worth while for the Flyers, not give them a young 1st rounder who can play bottom 6 in the NHL. Either a 1st rounder or Cal Foote with Callahan. Otherwise Tampa can *makes more fart sounds*

Cal Foote and their 1st are probably Ottawa bound in this scenario.

You mean Taylor Raddysh, the guy who put up 44 points in 30 games before joining SSM?

Yeah, I'd say he's pretty okay.

Kind of like Gilbert Dionne 100+ points. Awesome NHL player.
