Oh I don't think we're in at all. I'm just glad that at least for now Tampa isn't getting him.

I doubt it eliminates them from being interested. It isn't like they suddenly found out Kucherov would have to be extended

Do you think the Flyers are going into next season with Eilliot and Neuvirth as their 1 and 2 goalies?

It seemed almost unthinkable that Neuvy was coming back as a Flyer at the end of last season although it did seem that Elliot likely would be back this year.

Has something changed? Are they comfortable with another season of Neuvy?

I get a somewhat sinking feeling that Neuvy is coming back or that if he is not, they are content with Elliot and Lyons.

I guess there is still time to acquire someone but it doesn’t feel like it’s going to happen.

I actually don't know. I think if they can get a taker or making a solid deal then they will move him and then have Elliott and Lyon on the Flyers with Hart and Stolarz splitting time in Lehigh.

R.I.P. Ilkka Scora Goala, just thinking of him on his birthday.

I was there for the Cup years courtesy of my Dad, but the mid-80s team is still my favorite. And Ilkka goes without saying.

In b4 people say Giroux would have more primary assists if we moved him back to center.

Can Callahan actually play anymore? 5.8M AAV is a lot of escarole for someone who can't play anymore and probably isn't better at this stage of his career than, say, Matt Read.

This piece coming with Callahan has to be pretty enticing.

Alternatively, maybe if they took Lehtera back the other way? That'd save TB about 1.1M.

I'm not advocating any of this fwiw. I'm just bored.

- johndewar

Personally, I think Callahan's barely a $1 million player at this point, and heading down. That's just my assessment of the player without looking at any of his underlying metrics

I'm thinking the plan is Elliott and Lyons. I am hoping it's Elliott and Stolarz personally but with Stolarz missing last year makes it doubtful. I just think he has a higher upside.

Guessing Hextall sees how it plays out in camp but I think Neuvy is a train wreck waiting to happen.

Yes. I don't think they are confident enough that they have the depth without Neuvirth. Not yet at least. If Stolarz comes back strong and Hart looks great maybe they are willing to move Neuvirth, but until they I doubt they're okay with just Stolarz or Hart as the first call up.

I think one thing that is different this year is that Hakstol would be more comfortable playing Lyon if Neuvirth is down. Hopefully won't be a situation like last season where Neuvirth gets injured and Elliott is rode hard and put away wet.

What's the odds Neuvirth makes it through camp without an injury?

How does this contract look when compared to Dale Weise's contract??

Patrick Maroon and the St. Louis Blues are finalizing a 1-year contract in the neighbourhood of $1.75M. Deal is expected to be official later this afternoon.

No snow yet, actually an awesome summer so far in terms of weather.

Not too much new, got another bike for my early mid life crisis. Rebel 500. Fun little toy. Heading out camping in the next few weeks. Lake life/hiking otherwise.

How you feel about the draft/FA for the team so far? I'm pretty happy overall, its such a long process to build organically but really the only way in this barren cap era. The coaching we know about, but they are for sure on the way up as a team. Nice to see. Think it will take Carter Hart and some of these other forwards from the prospects to come up - for them to really hit their stride as an organization.

Yeah but there was talk of Kucherov being moved to NY to make room for Karlsson in Tampa.

Awesome! Lots of summer outdoor activities there in MB!

Idk enough about the draft really, I'll wait til I see the kids play before I form an opinion. I liked the JVR signing, he should help the scoring depth and PP.

They've done nothing to improve the goaltending, or PK tho, so it's going to be a dog fight making the playoffs again, and if they do most likely another first round exit.

Probably has to do with real deal global warming caused by overuse of single use plastic straws.
