Hyman 👍 - mr.sir
He actually sucks at blocking shots considering how much PK time he gets. Even Matthews had more blocked shots in 20 less games. |

Would that make Hyman a better shot blocker if it were? |

Frederik Andersen? - PatC80
nvm, bad idea..
He needs to be dialed in and not paying attention to ref poop.
I think Babs will give either JT/AM first PK duties. Make one of these guys a true two-way #1C in the NHL... Too many people complaining about not wanting Matthews to block shots, (frank) off. He's a grown-ass man making soon to be stupid money.. He can jump in front of a few pucks. Let him show he can handle that and then give him the C |

That sounds like a great idea right up until he takes one off the face, breaks a jaw, loses 20 lbs etc.
4th liners are cheap; let them block shots. |

A puck off the face isn't dramatic, it's a very real possibility when playing the PK regularly. |

Yep, he'd be amazing on the PK and needs to get more minutes. Guys don't get injured on the PK any more than any other situation. Definitely want to see AM or JT on the PK, no question. |

You're insane if you think the odds of getting a puck off the face is the same 5 on 5 or on the PP as it is on the PK. The forwards literally stand in front of the hardest shooting players and try to prevent the puck from getting to the net. |

All players (Marleau excluded) will have to go through Babs defensive wringer.. Kap and Johnson will be PKers at some point imo.. No more Phil Kessels. |

Meh i dont see guys getting hurt on the PK. Matthews would be brilliant, they should totally play him on the PK. There aren't more injuries on the PK, that's made up. |

Again, let's say it's Decemember and Shea Weber is back in the Montreal line-up and Montreal is on the PP and Matthews is on the PK and you don't see a higher chance of an injury from a Shea Weber bomb when it's potentially Matthew's job to lay down and block that shot?
You're insane. |

i see a high chance of Matthews stripping the puck from Weber and scoring. That's the way of the future on the PK, more skill. Players have gear on, they can block shots. |

Bobby Orr says the rumors about the captaincy and Matthews aren't true. But why isn't Tavares captain yet?
I think after this year plays itself through, let the room decide who is captain. The hockey world is small, guys know each other even when they don't play with each other so in that respect, I think everybody knows Tavares is captain material. But, for the sake of giving everyone a chance, maybe after this coming season is over, let the players decide. - Unholy_Goalie
Give the captaincy to Rielly. Have Matthews and Tavares serve as the alternates. |

Gear doesn't block everything, the risk is still there. Not worth the risk. 30 seconds at the end of a PK, fine but a regular PKer, that's just stupid. Let the dime a dozen 4th liners block the shots. |
