it looks pretty bad over there now that he has full control. but if it's an intentional tank, than it seems fine. - Tumbleweed
why sign AHL'ers for 4 years?
Komarov at 3 mil?
You can tank and dont need to add term for ahl players |

hopefully he learned what he needed from Plekanec in the playoffs. If not, Leafs might need to trade another 2nd rounder at the TDL for Plek to school him a 2nd time around next spring. |

Good for Komarov. He got 12 million when likely other teams were offering 1 - 2 years. |

Better make it a first rounder to really drive those lessons home. |

I'm assuming that Lou had two plans going in. He told the Islanders "If we keep JT here's the plan" and "if JT leaves here's the tank" |

i'm thinking the tank plan should be in full effect.
signing bad players to 4 year deals just seems inconsistent with that. that's jim benning 101 there. |

after seeing all those moves, Lou is one of the worst GMs right?
there is no way he got total control over the leafs moves. He got Martin and Polaks..but he seems to like any sub NHL players - senstroll
you do realise that Leafs are in current position because of the moves Lou made over the last 3 years, right?
NYI will get a top5 pick coming draft; with a bit of lottery luck they can draft Hughes.
add Panarin, Bobrovsky as UFAs.
add a few other nice pieces via trade (Eberle is gone).
and NYI will be a playoff team again in 2020-2021 season. |

lou kept the team on track and probably did a lot to show dubas the behind the scenes ropes of running an nhl team. that could be invaluable.
he dumped phanuef - which was great. but other than that, he just didn't too anything to hurt the team long-term*
*hoping zaitsev is eating a few sandwiches this offseason to put on a few pounds. |
